Gunfire Games' newest release, Remnant 2, marks the arrival of their highly-anticipated Soulslike looter shooter, introducing fans to fresh cooperative experiences, menacing foes called The Root, and exhilarating boss battles. Remnant 2 builds on the solid foundation set by its predecessor, enhancing several crucial gameplay elements such as a more extensive procedural generation system and improved combat mechanics. The game's development timeline has been relatively swift, with fans being treated to a preview of Remnant 2 during the 2022 Game Awards event.

Significantly, the flexible class system takes center stage as one of the game's most noteworthy improvements, embracing RPG mechanics to a greater extent. In Remnant 2, players can choose from an assortment of Archetypes, some of which must be unlocked throughout gameplay. Each Archetype offers a distinct play style, ensuring that they don't feel too similar. Moreover, unlockable traits and abilities further amplify these differences, enabling players to approach combat in a myriad of unique ways. This expanded flexibility gives players ample options to construct a well-rounded cooperative team, complete with defined roles and an array of strategies.

Remnant 2 players begin their journey with a limited selection of classes, such as the Challenger, Hunter, and Medic. However, as they progress through the campaign, players will discover various methods to unlock additional class options. Among these archetypes lies the Gunslinger, a class specialized in dealing high damage per second (DPS). Unlocking this captivating class can be achieved through numerous pathways.

Pre-Ordering Remnant 2

To unlock the Gunslinger class in Remnant 2 before its official launch on July 25, the simplest method is to pre-order the game. By doing so, players will instantly gain access to the DPS specialist. Furthermore, those who have purchased the Ultimate Edition of Remnant 2 will not only be able to start playing a few days ahead of the official release, but they will also unlock additional perks such as armor sets, the Survival Pack, and 3 DLC content packs that will be released throughout the first year.

How To Unlock the Gunslinger Without Pre-Ordering

If you don't want to pre-order or missed out on the opportunity to play Remnant 2 early, there is an alternative method to unlock the Gunslinger archetype. To do so, players must complete most of the biomes during the campaign and eventually visit an elder named Mudtooth at Ward 13. Mudtooth, a storyteller, can be found not too far from the World Stone, engaged in a game of chess behind a nearby building. You can speak with Mudtooth and ask him to share his stories. It's important to note that Mudtooth has many stories to tell, so this process may take some time for those who prefer not to skip the dialogue.

Continuing the conversation with Mudtooth and requesting more stories is necessary to exhaust all of his dialogue options. Occasionally, Mudtooth may ask for more time to think, but this isn't the final point. Players will need to progress further in the campaign and then revisit Mudtooth for another story. Towards the end of the campaign, Mudtooth will eventually run out of stories, and as a reward, players will receive the Worn Cylinder item. This item can be exchanged with Wallace at the Docks for the Iron Cylinder, which can then be equipped in one of the Archetype slots to activate the Gunslinger archetype.
