In Final Fantasy games, the Potion is a crucial item for players. Typically found in the early stages of the game, Potions can be used to restore a small amount of the protagonist's health, providing a reliable way to recover and continue the journey. As players advance, they often acquire more powerful methods of healing, diminishing the usefulness of Potions. However, in Final Fantasy 16, Clive begins with the ability to carry four Potions and three High Potions. These items can still restore his health, but as Clive levels up and gains more health, the effectiveness of these restorative items diminishes. Surprisingly, there is a way to enhance the potency of restorative items in Final Fantasy 16, although the game doesn't explicitly reveal this method.

To enhance the restorative capabilities of their items, players must obtain Morganbeard Extract and further strengthen it with Invigorated Morganbeard Extract. These exclusive items can only be obtained by completing two side quests that become accessible later in the game's storyline. Therefore, players aiming to boost the effectiveness of their items during the initial stages of the game must progress until they reach the After the Storm main quest, where the first side quest, The Root of the Problem, becomes available.

After completing the After the Storm main quest, Clive has the opportunity to meet Nigel, the Head Botanist at the Hideaway. Nigel seeks Clive's assistance in locating three Morganbeard flowers in the region of Rosaria. To pinpoint the flowers' whereabouts, players can fast-travel to Martha's Rest and proceed west, then north, following the path until they reach a right turn. At this location, they will find the three Morganbeard flowers available for collection.

Once Clive successfully obtains the Morganbeard Flowers, he can return to Nigel, the Head Botanist, and interact with him to conclude the quest. As a token of appreciation, Nigel rewards Clive with the Morganbeard Extract and some Black Blood.

To enhance the effectiveness of Clive's potions, players are required to complete the side quest called "Please Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol." This quest becomes available during the main quest "A Song of Hope." To begin the side quest, players must speak to Nigel, Head Botanist in the Hideaway, and agree to assist him in finding Morbol Tendrils.

In order to obtain these tendrils, players will need to defeat a formidable Morbol known as "Carrot." This creature can be encountered by interacting with the Hunt Board and fast-traveling to the Three Reeds. From there, players should proceed west and take the first right. Once the beast has been vanquished, Clive can return to Nigel, Head Botanist, and conclude the quest by interacting with him.

Obtaining the tendrils, Nigel will trade them to Clive in return for a Goblin Coin and the Invigorated Morganbeard Extract. This acquisition of both Morganbeard Extracts will significantly enhance the potency of Clive's potions.

Furthermore, acquiring both the Morganbeard Extract and the Invigorated Morganbeard Extract will extend the duration of the buffs obtained from Strength Tonics, Stoneskin Tonics, and Lionheart Tonics.
