Nintendo Live's upcoming festivities will feature a Zelda-themed musical concert and an amiibo fighting tournament. After a three-year hiatus, last October's return of Nintendo's live gaming event included competitive tournaments for titles such as Splatoon 3 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Attendees also enjoyed a live concert showcasing music from Animal Crossing and an exploration of the history of Pokemon. Nintendo has had an exciting year since then, including the highly acclaimed launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on the Nintendo Switch, featuring new building mechanics. Additionally, there have been rumors of Nintendo's next mainline console announcement, although the company has downplayed them. The Super Mario Bros. Movie also exceeded expectations, becoming one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time after its April release.
Nintendo has just announced that their annual event, Nintendo Live, will be held in the United States for the first time ever. The event will take place in Seattle, Washington from September 1 to September 4, 2023. Attendees will have the opportunity to try out popular Nintendo games like Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Pikmin 4, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. In addition to gaming, the event will feature live music concerts showcasing tracks from Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda. Fans can also look forward to snapping photos with Mario and friends, as well as unwinding in an Animal Crossing-inspired space.
Players at Nintendo Live 2023 will have the opportunity to participate in several Nintendo Switch-based tournaments, as with previous events. The first day will feature the Super Smash Bros. Squad Strike tournament for players aged 13 and up, while the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 2023 Championships will take place on day two. On September 3, players can train their collectible amiibo fighters in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo+me Exhibition 2023. The festivities will conclude on day four with the Splatoon 3 2023 Championships. One of the most exciting events at Nintendo Live 2023 will be the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo tournament, where players will watch their figures battle each other in CPU-controlled matches rather than controlling them directly. This tournament will be just one of the many demos, tournaments, and concert performances that fans can look forward to experiencing in September.
