The last MagicCon of 2023 for Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts has commenced in Las Vegas. Today's preview panel, a highlight of the weekend, featured multiple card unveilings by Wizards Of The Coast for the upcoming three releases. The panel showcased additional cards from The Lord Of The Rings, as well as the next two comprehensive sets: The Lost Caverns Of Ixalan, featuring some Jurassic World-inspired cards, and Ravnica Remastered.
The Lord Of The Rings: Tales Of Middle-earth Holiday Edition
Introducing the highly anticipated holiday release of The Lord Of The Rings: Tales Of Middle-earth in June's initial release. This incredible expansion showcases a delightful blend of brand new original cards and timeless favorites from the MTG collection, brought to life with stunning artwork from renowned LOTR artists Greg and Tim Hildebrandt. Launching on November 3rd, The Lord Of The Rings: Tales Of Middle-earth's holiday sets offer exciting new gift bundles and scene boxes.The Lost Caverns Of Ixalan
Prepare for the upcoming core set of Magic: The Gathering called The Lost Caverns Of Ixalan, as it takes us back to the Mesoamerica-inspired Ixalan plane. Within this set, you will encounter a host of fresh creatures and enchanting locations, including revamped editions of the colossal dinosaur Ghalta, the valiant poet Huatli, and the much-anticipated debut of Ojer Axonil, a new god.Jurassic World
In addition to the LCI set, there are special guest cards that form a separate set within the set. These cards have been reprinted from various points in Magic's extensive history. Lord Of Atlantis and Mana Crypt, two of these reprints, were unveiled at MagicCon Las Vegas. Furthermore, Lost Caverns Of Ixalan packs include cards that showcase characters and creatures from the iconic Jurassic World franchise, which is commemorating its 30th anniversary this year. Ravnica Remastered
The final announcements from the MagicCon Las Vegas preview panel focused on Ravnica Remastered, the first set of 2024. This highly anticipated set brings together cards from the beloved Ravnica block, comprised of Ravnica: City of Guilds, Guildpact, and Dissension, which originally debuted back in 2005.Fans will be thrilled to know that the set will feature all 10 iconic "shock lands," renowned for dealing two damage to players when played. Each of these lands will be available in three different versions: a standard edition, a stunning full-art edition, and a nostalgic retro frame edition. Collectors will have the option to choose between foil and non-foil variants for each version as well.
Aurelia, Exemplar of Justice and Niv-Mizzet, Parun were among the creatures revealed by the panel for Ravnica Remastered. These iconic characters were showcased in a retro frame variant. Continuing the exciting trends seen in the recent Wilds of Eldraine set, the expansion will also feature anime art variants for certain cards. Notable examples include Massacre Girl, Fblthp, The Lost, and Krenko, Mob Boss.
