- The new skills allow him to retain his enhanced range of movement. Additionally, he gains the power to detect low-health enemies, the ability to swiftly leap towards targets, and the capability to shield himself with a shadowy veil to reduce incoming damage.
This update also introduces alterations to the weapon meta, emphasizing SMGs, the reintroduction of Disruptor Rounds, and much more.
Apex Legends season 18, named Resurrection, will launch on August 8. This season will not introduce a new character, but instead will focus on the introduction of Revenant's rebirth and his storyline in the Simulacrum's story. Along with this, Revenant will receive new gameplay abilities to align with the current meta of Apex Legends. Revenant will be available for all players at the start of the season, and completing certain challenges before season 18 ends will permanently unlock him.
Additionally, there will be changes to the weapon meta, particularly with a focus on SMGs. Disruptor Rounds will also make a return, with the ability to be used on the Peacekeeper this season. The Ranked system will be further refined, Mixtape will be introduced on Broken Moon, and of course, there will be a new Resurrection Battle Pass. Game Rant recently attended a Respawn Entertainment panel to learn more about season 18 and specifically Revenant's rebirth.
As Apex Legends season 18 begins, players have undoubtedly observed the glitching of Revenant in the battle royale title. It appears that his mind is crumbling under intense fury, intensifying the intrigue surrounding the unfolding story. However, the immediate attention of many players lies in the impact on the gameplay. Regrettably, Revenant's totem has vanished, leaving behind remnants of his abilities, ultimately transforming the entirety of his character.
Apex Legends: Revenant Reborn Abilities
Passive - Assassin's Instinct - Revenant can see low-health enemies, has improved crouch walk speed, and improved wall climbing.
Tactical - Shadow Leap - Revenant possesses the ability to make a significant leap forward, effectively closing the gap between him and his target.
Ultimate - Shadow Fortification - Revenant creates a protective barrier made of formidable shadows that shields him from incoming damage and gradually restores over a period of time. This barrier, as well as his tactical ability, are replenished through successful knockdowns.
Revenant's totem, once a staple, has lost its effectiveness in recent seasons. However, with this new kit, Revenant now takes on a more Assassin-like gameplay style. When a Revenant player claims that someone is "one shot," his passive ability ensures that they are indeed left with just a single shot. Not only does he retain his improved movement, but his tactical ability also grants him a stronger solo push. Respawn Entertainment has described it as being capable of propelling him as far as an Octane Jump Pad when fully charged. When combined with his Forged Shadows Ultimate, a charged-up Revenant is just as terrifying as the old Revtane meta in Apex Legends.
To commemorate this death and rebirth, Apex Legends will be hosting the Death Dynasty Collection event. During this event, players can enjoy double XP in the Battle Royale mode from August 8th to 15th, and double XP in Mixtape from August 15th to 22nd. Besides the addition of new cosmetics, players will also have the opportunity to acquire Revenant's new Death Grip Heirloom.
Apex Legends is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
