In Final Fantasy 16, Clive can embark on a variety of unique side quests as he traverses Valisthea. As players make progress in the main story, new side quests become accessible, allowing Clive to continuously take on new challenges after completing longer sections of the game.

One of these side quests, called "The Weight of Command," can be undertaken in Final Fantasy 16. It becomes available during the main quest "Bolts from the Blue," but only after Clive successfully completes the sub-objective "Getting to Work." This brief quest requires the courageous protagonist to locate missing Cursebreakers and rescue two Bearers.

How To Start The Weight Of Command In Final Fantasy 16

After finishing the Getting to Work sub-objective in Bolts from the Blue, players can initiate The Weight of Command by engaging with Dorys. Dorys, a red-haired woman, can be located on the wooden walkway to the north of the Boarding Deck in The Hideaway.

Once players interact with Dorys, she informs Clive that Cole's group of Cursebreakers has mysteriously vanished. Concerned about their well-being, she requests Clive to conduct an investigation.

Where To Find Cole's Party Of Cursebreakers

According to Dorys, Cole and his fellow Cursebreakers are currently located in The Dragon's Aery. In order to commence the search for them, Clive should utilize fast-travel to The Dragon's Aery Obelisk and proceed west towards The Holy Hand. By following the dirt path, players will easily spot Cole and his group of Cursebreakers positioned on the left side, just behind a tree.

Upon conversing with Cole, he will provide Clive with an explanation that, although he successfully rescued a few Bearers, some were unfortunately left behind. He further advises Clive that the remaining Bearers can be discovered to the south, urging him to embark on the mission to locate them.

Clive should head straight towards the south from Cole's location, until he comes across a wrecked carriage that is being surrounded by Goblins. As per Cole's information, the rest of the Bearers are trapped inside the carriage, so Clive needs to confront the nearby Goblins first in order to free them.

Upon approaching the carriage, players will face an assault from three Goblin Leechers at Level 28 and a Level 28 Gigas Bruiser. Defeating the Goblin Leechers is a relatively simple task, while the Gigas Bruiser may require a bit more effort. While the majority of its attacks are slow and predictable, players should beware of its powerful Big Swing move.

If Clive happens to be within range of the Gigas Bruiser when it initiates this attack, he must perform multiple dodges to avoid being hit by the creature's club. Alternatively, he can choose to retreat until the attack subsides. After emerging victorious in battle, Clive will be rewarded with a Bone Necklace and 12 Magicked Ash.

How To Complete The Weight Of Command In Final Fantasy 16

After rescuing the two Bearers, Clive can head back to The Hideaway and locate Dorys at the top of the stairs leading to The Mess. Upon engaging in a short conversation, Dorys generously gifts Clive with 40 Sharp Fangs, 40 Steelsilk, and The Breath of Fire (Rising Flames) accessory. Equipping this accessory will decrease the cooldown time of the Rising Flame ability by two seconds. It is important to note that Final Fantasy 16 can only be played on PlayStation 5.
