How to Beat Benedikta
Players of Final Fantasy 16 may recall the familiar area from the demo as they embark on the ninth main scenario quest, titled "Headwind". The Eikonic Challenge previously utilized this quest to provide a glimpse into the powers that Clive acquires throughout the game. While certain elements from the demo will be recognizable, the actual quest itself contains a substantial amount of additional story content.
Until now, combat encounters in Final Fantasy 16 have been relatively scarce. However, as players venture into Caer Norvent, the intensity of action will notably escalate. Here is a preview of what players can anticipate as they commence their journey in "Headwind".
This walkthrough contains spoilers, so players should proceed with caution.
Search Caer Norvent
After concluding the cutscenes, Final Fantasy 16 players will find themselves in one of the lower levels of Caer Norvent. Proceed towards the stairs and navigate through the narrow corridor. Continue following this pathway until you reach the dungeon. The cells within are all vacant, so approach the gate that obstructs your path forward. Similar to the previous main scenario quest, players will be required to press and hold the 'R2' button multiple times in order to surpass this gate.
As players ascend the staircase, the sound of alert guards confirms their awareness of intruders. Proceed up the stairs, prepared for an impending confrontation in the adjacent room beyond the door. Although a sizable group of enemies awaits, they lack significant strength. Overcome these adversaries and approach the door leading to the outside. This action triggers a brief cutscene.
Proceeding through the door, players will find themselves in a spacious open area where they will encounter a formidable adversary eagerly awaiting the arrival of Clive and Cid.
This foe possesses the ability to unleash both fire and lightning spells. While these attacks can be easily evaded, it is crucial for players to remain alert and avoid becoming too focused, as they might overlook the enemy's telegraphed movements. Additionally, be cautious of its teleportation capabilities. Once this adversary is defeated, proceed to unlock the gate located on the left side of the area. Don't forget to collect the Potion and plunder the chest before ascending the stairs. By continuing along this path, players will eventually arrive at another spacious area where a tutorial on confronting guarding enemies awaits. Brace yourselves, as multiple waves of adversaries will need to be confronted in this upcoming zone.
Before entering the chapel through the grand door, it is crucial for players to restore any incurred damage. Once the gate is opened within the chapel, a captivating cutscene will ensue, paving the way for an imminent battle.
How to Beat Suparna & Chirada
Chirada's reappearance in Final Fantasy 16 brings an unexpected twist as this time, they are accompanied by a formidable ally. While players are already familiar with Chirada's arsenal of attacks, the addition of Suparna amplifies the challenge. With both enemies unleashing their own unique abilities, players must exercise caution and agility to evade multiple simultaneous attacks.
Early on in the battle, there will be a Cinematic Evasion and Cinematic Strike sequence. Take advantage of this opportunity to momentarily incapacitate both adversaries and subsequently inflict as much damage as possible. However, be cautious when the bosses regain their footing as they may unleash their Perfect Storm attack, generating a massive tornado in the center of the arena. From this point onward, the bosses will continue to repeat their assaults until their ultimate demise.
Persue Benedikta
After defeating the bosses, a cutscene will trigger. Head straight up the stairs and continue ascending, navigating through corridors until you reach a room occupied by a group of enemies. Eliminate this group and proceed through the door to discover another set of stairs leading upwards. This will take you outside, where you'll encounter another group of enemies. Dispatch them and continue your ascent up another flight of stairs until you arrive at a room with a large table, where more enemies await.
There aren't many areas for players to explore apart from ascending. However, in case players find themselves disoriented amidst a battle, they can simply press the left stick to prompt Torgal to indicate the correct path forward. It is crucial to continue advancing and confront any adversaries obstructing the way. Once players successfully reach the summit of the Green Tower, they must ensure they are adequately prepared for an imminent encounter with a formidable boss.
How to Beat Benedikta
Being Garuda's dominant, Benedikta relies heavily on wind magic. Along with spells like Aerora and Aeroga, Benedikta employs her wind magic to swiftly evade players upon being struck. When she casts Windblade, three distinct lines materialize on the ground. It is crucial to avoid standing in these lines, as Benedikta will subsequently follow up with a second Windblade. These abilities persist until Benedikta's health bar is completely depleted.
After a brief cutscene and a Cinematic Evasion sequence, the second phase of the Benedikta fight commences. In this phase, Benedikta becomes more focused and taps into Garduda's power to a greater extent. She will swiftly fly around and launch attacks with increased speed compared to phase one. One particular ability to be cautious of is Aero Rain. While utilizing this ability, Benedikta will soar through the sky and unleash green spheres towards the players. It is crucial to continuously dodge these projectiles as it is impossible to strike Benedikta while she is employing this technique.
As Benedikta's health decreases, she will initiate the Gathering Clouds ability. This will be followed by a scaled-down version of the attack she previously used during the Cinematic Evasion, which can be evaded easily. If Benedikta summons a tornado, it is advised to move away from her. When Benedikta's health reaches approximately 30%, Torgal will rejoin the battle, providing players with an advantage after a series of Cinematic Strikes. Continue to inflict damage on her, and eventually, she will be defeated. Following this, there will be a series of cutscenes, and players will receive a trophy as they proceed to the next main scenario quest.
