During Google I/O, the tech giant shared more information about its highly anticipated foldable phone, the Pixel Fold. Designed in a book-style format, similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold, the exterior of the phone boasts a small screen while a larger 7.6-inch display is revealed when the phone is fully opened. Google proudly announced that the Pixel Fold is the slimmest folding phone on the market and features the same Tensor G2 chipset as the Pixel 7 and new Pixel 7a. In addition, Google is developing software features specifically tailored to the unique form factor of the Pixel Fold, including a table-top mode in YouTube that allows for video watching on one side of the fold and other information on the other side of the screen. Google also showcased a live translation mode in Google Translate that utilizes both screens for the other person's conversations.
You can now pre-order the Pixel Fold on the Google Store for $1799 and will start to ship next month. Pre-orders also include a Pixel Watch.
