Highlights
World of Warcraft has made a change allowing players as low as level 30 to participate in Dragonriding events in the Eastern Kingdoms Cup.
By participating in these races, players have the opportunity to earn Riders of Azeroth badges, which can be traded for attractive transmog sets or unique customizations for their Dragonriding drakes. This alteration enables new players to immerse themselves in the exhilarating world of Dragonriding, regardless of their character's level, and unlock the complete potential of their mounts during these races.
World of Warcraft has introduced a new feature called universal Dragonriding ability unlocks specifically for the Eastern Kingdoms Cup. This update allows players, even those with lower levels starting from level 30, to actively participate in the Dragonriding events of the older realms without the requirement of having a character at the maximum level.
The Eastern Kingdoms Cup is a competition that focuses on Dragonriding races. It consists of 14 races that take place in different zones located within one of the original continents in World of Warcraft. Starting from now until October 17, characters who are at least level 30 can take part in these races, following the normal, Advanced, and Reverse courses. By successfully completing these races, players can earn Riders of Azeroth badges. These badges can then be exchanged with NPCs in either Valdrakken, Stormwind, or Orgrimmar for unique rewards such as a transmog set or various new customizations for their Dragonriding drakes.
Participating in the Eastern Kingdoms Cup has become more accessible thanks to a recent change in World of Warcraft. Previously, players needed to collect all the glyphs on the Dragon Isles in Dragonflight to unlock extra Vigor and abilities for Dragonriding. This meant that players without a level 70 character couldn't obtain all the upgrades, and those without a level 60 character couldn't use any of them. However, World of Warcraft senior gameplay software engineer, Karazaa, confirmed that during these old world races, players will temporarily have all Dragonriding abilities unlocked, regardless of their normal availability.
During the Kalimdor Cup in August and September, World of Warcraft introduced NPCs in Orgrimmar and Stormwind, allowing players to pick up the breadcrumb quest and use their badges at lower levels. However, players without max-level characters couldn't achieve the Gold medal on every race without every glyph. Now, even new players can conquer these challenging courses.
Exciting news for World of Warcraft fans who enjoy Dragonriding! Events for various races in Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, and the Broken Isles have already been discovered on the game's Public Test Realm. Even if players are not at maximum level yet, they can still unlock their mounts' full potential in these races, even if they are missing a few glyphs.
World of Warcraft has confirmed that the popular dynamic flying system will soon be implemented in the rest of the game. This opens up the possibility of these Dragonriding events returning or becoming a permanent feature. Fans can look forward to potential announcements about Dragonriding at BlizzCon, along with news about the next World of Warcraft expansion.
