Discovering the Jirutagumac Shrine: A Guide to Navigating the Sky IslandsOut of the 152 Shrines in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, 32 are hidden in the Sky Islands above. These Shrines require players to overcome challenges before gaining entrance, such as correctly placing a green crystal. However, the Jirutagumac Shrine is not one of these straightforward Shrines. It is only accessible through a successful skydive to its hidden location, and even then, players will face a physics puzzle nicknamed "Wings on Wind." This challenge tests players' ability to construct a reliable airborne vehicle with the Wing Zonai Device in order to earn the Light of Blessing.
Jirutagumac Shrine Location
Located high up in the Sky Islands above the Lanayru region, the Jirutagumac Shrine is a sight to behold. To access it, players must first clear the Sludge from the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower at coordinates (2846, 0573, 0375) and activate it. As they make their way up, a massive sphere comes into view, slowly rotating like a Death Star. The Shrine's green glow is visible from within the sphere, and players can see it through a hole in the surface as the sphere rotates to reveal the entrance.
To reach the Lanayru Sky Archipelago, players can utilize the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower and glide over to the Sky Islands above the rotating sphere. While it is technically possible to fly into the sphere's hole directly, it is more reliable to land on the platform above and wait for the right moment to dive in. For those with good aim, using Recall on a rotating device inside the sphere can freeze it in place for a brief moment, allowing access to the Jirutagumac Shrine. However, this maneuver requires precision. To avoid frustration, players should save their game before attempting to enter the sphere, allowing for quick retries if necessary.
Jirutagumac Shrine Walkthrough (A Flying Device)
When players walk into Jirutagumac Shrine they will see a large room with three ramps that point left, forward, and right. A few Wing Zonai Devices can be seen here, so pick one up and head over to the right ramp.
Using the left or center ramps is unnecessary for Link to reach both the Chest and the path to the Shrine's exit. Instead, the right ramp can take him there. To do this, he should pick up a Wing and drop it on the rightmost ramp facing down. Then, he must quickly climb on top before it slides down and becomes airborne.
To keep the Wing mostly balanced, Link should stay in the center. However, he can also shift his weight distribution to gain some level of control over its direction in the air. The ramps should guide the Wing directly to other platforms without the need to turn. But if Link goes off course or the Wing doesn't have enough momentum to make it, he must quickly swap to Recall and reverse time. This will return the Wing to its starting position, ready for another attempt.
After players reach the area on the right, they will come across the Jirutagumac Shrine Chest and new Zonai Devices that can assist Link in reaching the end. With the help of an Ultrahand, attach a fan to the Wing's rear and walk down a ramp that leads to the other side of the room. Wait for a Skateboard to fall, as there should be a continuous stream of them falling off the ledge within Ultrahand's reach. Grab one out of mid-air as soon as the ability highlight turns green, and attach it to the bottom of the Wing Device.
Attach a Skateboard to the Wing's underside if catching a falling object seems daunting. To do this, return to the start using Recall, head left instead of right, and grab the Skateboard. Then, use Recall on the plane to get back to the start, and take the right ramp once again. After attaching the Fan and Skateboard to the Wing, place it on the runway and fire an arrow at it while Link is standing on top. This should give enough power to cross the wide gap to the end of Jirutagumac.
- How To Get The Jirutagumac Shrine Chest
Located above a seemingly unreachable platform on the rightmost area, lies the Chest in Jirutagumac Shrine. However, getting up there is made easy by using a Wing to balance on either side of a small gap and using Ascend to cross the makeshift bridge. Upon opening the chest, players will be rewarded with a Large Zonaite ore. This valuable item can either replenish or upgrade Link's Zonai battery, providing an advantage in battles.
