In Modern Warfare 3 (2023), players have the opportunity to personalize their gameplay by selecting from a range of gloves, boots, and gear choices that boost movement speed, reload speed, and minimize footsteps noise. This allows for a diverse range of playstyles and enhances immersion in the game.
With the mixed reception of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022), fans are eagerly anticipating an improvement and overhaul in Modern Warfare 3 (2023). Based on prior announcements of beloved features making a comeback, as well as glimpses of gameplay and full reveals, it appears that Sledgehammer's Modern Warfare 3 has the potential to redeem the franchise in the eyes of fans. Although there are still areas for improvement during its beta stage, it is evident that the developers are dedicated to delivering a classic Call of Duty experience that longtime fans have come to expect.
5 Time To Kill/Health
Complaints regarding the excessively fast time it takes for players to eliminate each other in various Call of Duty games have arisen, leading to unfair gameplay scenarios. The quick time-to-kill leaves players with insufficient time to accurately identify their attacker and seek cover before engaging in combat. In contrast, a slower and more reasonable time-to-kill would allow players to readjust.
Fortunately, the developers at Sledgehammer have heeded player feedback and implemented a health increase to 150 in Modern Warfare 3 (2023). This adjustment balances the time-to-kill, providing players with a longer duration that is more suitable. With players now requiring 5 or 6 hits, depending on the weapon and distance, there is a greater opportunity to swiftly retreat and return fire without the fear of instant elimination.
4 Movement Speed/Agility
Improved time-to-kill is accompanied by faster and more responsive movement in all gun battles. Whether players wield submachine guns, assault rifles, shotguns, or marksmen rifles, the increased speed of covering ground enhances the overall gameplay experience. Additionally, sliding has proven to be a useful tactic for all players as it enables a tactical perspective instead of the traditional aim down sights approach.
While aiming down sights can still be employed with the appropriate gear and equipment, players utilizing weapons that excel in close-quarters combat will greatly benefit from sliding. Closing in on enemies swiftly allows for quicker eliminations. Moreover, the option for slide cancelling adds a nostalgic touch, evoking the beloved gameplay features of classic Call of Duty that fans have yearned for.
3 Gloves, Boots, & Gear
Developers at Sledgehammer have introduced new options in various departments to offer players different ways to play Modern Warfare 3 (2023). These options include increasing slide distance and aim down sights speed to enhance movement speed, faster reloading speeds, and the elimination of footsteps sounds when navigating maps.
Previously, some of these features were available as 'Tactical Gear'. However, reintroducing them as permanent perks and skills that are always active, rather than activation-based, is a welcomed change for many Call of Duty fans. This plays a crucial role in providing a more enjoyable gaming experience and aligns with the increased time-to-kill in Modern Warfare 3.
2 Aim Assist
When engaging in gun battles in any Call of Duty title, especially at long distances, the amount of aim assist provided to players is crucial. Balancing the level of assistance is key to ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience. Sledgehammer developers have successfully achieved this balance by neither providing too little nor too much aim assist. This is particularly evident when facing opponents using sniper rifles or marksmen rifles. The aim assist is calibrated to give players a better chance of eliminating long-range guns without providing a distinct advantage. While these aspects may evolve over time with updates and patches, the developers have started off on the right foot.
1 Hit Markers/Sound
One of the most enjoyable aspects of Modern Warfare 3 (2023) is the enhanced hit markers, which improve both the visual style and sound effects. Players can now easily identify successful headshots based on the smooth and responsive hit marker sounds, enhancing the overall audio experience.
Although this feature may not drastically alter gameplay like other core elements, it undoubtedly enhances the overall ambiance of each lobby, particularly for players using headphones to immerse themselves in the game. As with previous installments of the franchise, players will likely have the option to customize their hit marker sound effects, allowing them to choose between classic or new options. Moreover, players can also customize the color and labels for enemies or the in-game UI, providing a personalized and unique gaming experience for each individual.
