The unique storyline of Edward Kenway's adventure has long been desired by fans who have been eagerly waiting for a return to the thrilling naval gameplay. While a remake of this highly regarded title could have a positive impact, choosing Assassin's Creed 4 as the starting point seems unconventional. Despite being a fan favorite, the game is not very old and its gameplay still holds up well. It may be premature to commence remaking games in this franchise. Although fans will likely be drawn to the remake, Ubisoft might consider initiating its Assassin's Creed remake journey from the very beginning.

Ubisoft Should Start the Assassin’s Creed Remake Train From the Start

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag was released just 10 years ago, so it seems too soon to consider remaking it. Remakes are typically reserved for games that came out multiple generations ago, which is not the case with this game. It would be more appropriate for Ubisoft to begin their remake adventure with the first Assassin's Creed game, which came out two generations ago. This game's gameplay, graphics, and overall experience could benefit from modernization and polishing, as it feels the most outdated among all the Assassin's Creed games. It is about time for Ubisoft to pay tribute to Altair's adventures in some form.

If Ubisoft wants to begin with one of the more popular installments, they should consider starting with the Ezio trilogy. These games were instrumental in defining what an Assassin's Creed game should be, with Ezio becoming the iconic face of the franchise. Even today, he remains the mascot and his story has heavily influenced the series since its inception. While the original title may feel less refined in comparison, being from two generations ago, it would greatly benefit from updated graphics, improved mechanics, and the opportunity to shine on brand-new hardware.

Ezio and Altair played a crucial role in shaping the success of the Assassin's Creed franchise. Without their influence, Edward Kenway's adventures on the high seas may never have taken place, and Ubisoft's lineup would have a very different look. These two characters should not be forgotten in favor of newer and more successful entries; they both deserve the remake treatment. Although it may be too soon to consider remaking any of these games, when the time comes, Ezio and Altair should be given priority.
