The console in Skyrim grants PC players the ability to manipulate virtually every aspect of the game engine at their own discretion. This includes altering variables such as physics modifiers, the speed of time, activating god mode or no clip, as well as utilizing various "cheats" to quickly level up their characters. When it comes to using console commands in Skyrim to obtain Perk points, players have multiple options to choose from.

However, there are alternative ways to achieve this using the developer tools. In Skyrim, players can either earn Perk points by leveling up a skill with XP or directly assign a Perk, eliminating the need for Perk points altogether. While accessing and using the Developer Console is relatively easy, it is crucial to input the commands accurately. Remember to include spaces between text in the console and ensure precise spelling of each Skill name, including uppercase and lowercase letters.
How To Access Console Commands In Skyrim
The developer console is typically already enabled when you install Skyrim on your PC. It can be accessed by pressing the "~" key, also known as the tilde key. This key is usually located at the top left of your keyboard, just above the "Tab" key and below the "Esc" key.
Open up Skyrim and enter the game world on a save, or a new game – just not a loading screen
When the game loads in (or anytime there isn't a loading screen), press the "~" key
The game will temporarily halt, allowing the cursor to remain active, and a dialogue box containing a command line will emerge at the lower-left corner of the screen.
If pressing the tilde key fails to pause the game and display a blinking line for text input, access your control settings and verify your keybindings. Look for a keybinding called "Open Console" under the Other category. Ensure that it is assigned to the "~" key, which may sometimes be represented as a left-facing apostrophe (`), and save the keybinding changes.
Console commands in Skyrim can be assigned to any key, but the tilde key tends to be both the most accessible and out-of-the-way.
Method One: Advancing Skills
One method to acquire Perk points in Skyrim is by granting yourself substantial quantities of XP in a Skill Tree. This not only enhances your proficiency in that particular skill but also boosts your overall level, resulting in the accumulation of Perk points that can subsequently be allocated towards unlocking the entire Skill Tree.
First, Open the console by pressing the tilde key
Then, type in the Skyrim Perk points command "player.AdvSkill" followed by the name of the skill you want to progress
Enter the desired XP value for the skill and hit enter. Adding 999999 as the XP value will maximize the skill, thereby increasing the player's overall level based on the number of skill ups gained. This is a convenient method to obtain Perk points, as the player's skill level will also improve simultaneously, allowing ample access to the desirable late-game Skyrim Perks. It is important to note that the Perk points obtained through this method can be allocated to any tree, not necessarily to the specific skill.
As an illustration, if you want to enhance the Perk points by increasing the Archery skill, you can use the command "player.Advskill Archery 999999". To find the specific names of each skill, you can refer to Skyrim wikis such as UESP.
Method Two: Direct Perk Assignment

When Perks are assigned directly, players are not confined by their Skill level; however, if done incorrectly, it can result in significant issues that disrupt the gameplay. It is crucial to consider the necessary Skills as prerequisites, not solely focusing on the endgame skills, as the game may encounter difficulties if Perks are added without their corresponding dependencies.
To begin, find the console ID for the Perk you wish to directly give to your character.
Next, open the in-game console and enter "player.AddPerk" followed by the ID corresponding to the skill you have selected.
To acquire the Impact Perk, simply type "player.AddPerk 000153D2". Refer to Skyrim wikis or the UESP for a comprehensive list of each Perk's ID. Regrettably, there is no method in Skyrim to add Perk points without leveling up a related skill. Although the direct assignment of Perks can serve as a solution, it may potentially disrupt your game if incompatible Perks are obtained, such as late-game mana reduction Perks without meeting the necessary requirements.
