Life By You, the highly anticipated life simulation game, will provide players with the ability to swear at NPCs. While drawing comparisons to The Sims due to its character and home customization, Life By You sets itself apart by simulating every second of every character's lives. Developed by Paradox Tectonic and published by Paradox Interactive, this game empowers players to take control of their characters' stories. The developer has already unveiled customization tools for characters, homes, and dialogue options, with the latter intriguing many players as it is a unique feature of Life By You.

Interestingly, players will have the option to express their frustration by swearing at non-playable characters (NPCs) in the game. During a demonstration, Hannah Culver, the senior game designer at Paradox Tectonic, showcased the choices available to her character. Instead of flirting, she chose to swear at her co-worker, causing her character to raise her middle finger and utter a profanity.

According to Culver, Life By You NPCs will exhibit various reactions depending on the players' relationships with them, ranging from friendly to hostile. As players continue conversing with NPCs, they will unlock a diverse range of interactions and progress through different relationship stages. Previous statements indicated that the game would explore adult themes such as nudity and romantic relationships, excluding themes related to sickness or death due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, it is now evident that swearing is also part of this feature.

While The Sims allows players to choose romantic or antagonistic interactions, Life By You takes it a step further with its customizable dialogue options and the realistic responses from NPCs. Initial previews suggest that players won't have to spam specific dialogue or actions to advance or regress their relationships with other characters, providing a more authentic experience.

Life By You is currently undergoing active development, with Paradox Interactive and Paradox Tectonic confirming an early access version to launch on September 12. This enables players to get a head start in experiencing the game and offers the opportunity to provide valuable feedback for the developers to enhance it further before its official release. Life By You is being developed for PC platforms.
