In its upcoming content update, World of Warcraft will introduce a captivating feature that allows players to embody the appearance of an unforgettable raid boss. This exciting addition, known as a transmog item, will be unveiled in Patch 10.1.5, also named Fractures in Time, set to release on July 11. This much-anticipated mid-season update encompasses a vast array of enriching additions to World of Warcraft, such as an expansive megadungeon, numerous quality of life enhancements, and the introduction of Time Rifts, a captivating new daily activity located in the Dragon Isles.
Time Rifts in World of Warcraft allow players to venture into different dimensions of Azeroth's timeline, ensuring that history remains intact. By completing quests and gathering relics in these alternate realities, players can earn Paracausal Flakes. These valuable resources can then be exchanged with various vendors for collectibles that embody the essence of each universe. Among the coveted items is the Pauldrons of the Fire Lord, which mirrors the striking flaming shoulder armor worn by Ragnaros. Any class can don these cosmetic Pauldrons, which can be obtained by trading in 1100 Paracausal Flakes.
Ragnaros holds a special place in the World of Warcraft community, being both an iconic raid boss and one of the game's earliest encounters. During WoW's launch, Ragnaros and Onyxia were the only two available raids, with Ragnaros being notably more challenging. This elemental lord made a triumphant return in the Cataclysm expansion, appearing in the Firelands raid and showcasing the highly detailed model from which the Pauldrons of the Fire Lord are inspired. Ragnaros has even transcended World of Warcraft, becoming a playable DPS hero in the game Heroes of the Storm.
Ragnaros is synonymous with raiding in World of Warcraft, making it the ultimate goal for fans. This highly sought-after transmog, which resembles the shoulder armor worn by the Firelord himself, can be used by characters of any class. As a result, players are already brainstorming creative transmogs once they acquire it. There is much anticipation among fans to see what other exciting cosmetics will be available in Time Rifts when Patch 10.1.5 is released.
In Patch 10.1.5, players who enjoy dressing up as raid bosses are in for a treat. World of Warcraft introduces a shortcut for the Siege of Orgrimmar raid, allowing players to farm Garrosh more efficiently for the Tusks of Mannoroth. Additionally, the new Dawn of the Infinite mega-dungeon offers the opportunity to obtain a high-resolution version of Gorehowl. While Fractures in Time may not be a major content patch, it still provides players with plenty of new activities to keep them engaged until Patch 10.2 arrives.
World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
