The racing game consists of three laps, with CPUs that match the player's performance level, and players have the option to jump for a speed boost.

A Minecraft player has created an impressive racing game mod for Minecraft, inspired by the iconic Mario Kart. As the Minecraft modding community continues to expand, this latest addition brings the beloved gameplay of Mario Kart into the world of Mojang's game.

While Mojang has developed various modes for Minecraft, such as Creative and Survival, the inclusion of mods adds endless possibilities for gameplay. Throughout the years, numerous popular Minecraft mods have revolutionized the gaming experience, including Hunger Games, Compact Claustrophobia, Roguelike Dungeons, and Adventure. These mods allow players to explore community-created content, shifting their focus away from the traditional Survival and Creative modes. While Minecraft has seen its fair share of roguelike and battle royale concepts in the past, this new mod ventures into the realm of kart racing, introducing an exciting twist to the game.

A clip of Iztroth's Project Mario Kart Minecraft mod was recently shared on Reddit. In the mod, Minecraft villagers line up in Mario Kart formation on both sides of the player as the countdown starts from three. The player is held in place while trying to run for a head start, which reflects the time frame in Mario Kart where players can earn a boost at the beginning of the race. Similar to Mario Kart, Iztroth's mod allows another player to get a head start and earn items by running into transparent blocks that resemble the Mario Kart item boxes. Red and white blocks highlight the corners, and racers drop coins when hit by shells.

Iztroth's Minecraft racing game was created solely using command blocks to unlock items and incorporate Mario Kart sounds. These include a jingle similar to a slot machine for the item blocks and noises indicating the use of Mario Kart items such as Fire Flowers, Mushrooms, and Super Stars. Stairs are randomly placed throughout the racecourse, providing Minecraft players with a slight speed boost, reminiscent of Mario Kart. While lava pits are less frequent in Iztroth's version, they still impede players rather than providing a boost. Similar to a typical Mario Kart course, Iztroth's Minecraft racing features three laps and CPU players that perform at the same level as the player.

Similar to Mario Kart, if a Minecraft player lags behind in Iztroth's racing game, certain items can assist them in reclaiming the first position. As this game is still under development, the exact release date for the Minecraft community to enjoy Iztroth's kart racer remains uncertain. Much like popular mods such as Hunger Games, the innovative gameplay of this racing game may entice players who have stopped playing Minecraft.

Minecraft is currently accessible on various platforms including Nintendo Switch, mobile devices, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and other legacy platforms.
