One Starfield player has impressively recreated the exact appearance of an NCR Ranger from Fallout: New Vegas in Bethesda's newest game. This accomplishment showcases the immense role-playing potential of Starfield, which has received praise from many reviewers recently.

Warning! Minor gameplay spoilers (vague hints about equipment locations) for Starfield are ahead. Although the official release date for the game is Wednesday, players who purchased the higher-tier editions have had early access to Starfield since September 1. According to Valve's platform API, at least 245,000 fans have already played the game on Steam alone, as indicated by the game's peak concurrent player numbers.

The RPG's early adopter demographic, including Reddit user rileycavanaugh, has already spent enough time with Starfield to acquire two distinct pieces of equipment that can be combined to closely resemble the NCR Ranger outfit from Fallout: New Vegas. However, the original armor set has been recreated in Starfield as separate clothing pieces. The replacement for the NCR Ranger Combat Armor is the First Officer Outfit, which can be obtained in the Cheyenne star system. The accompanying headgear, known as the Ryujin Guard Helmet, can be found in the Volii galaxy.

Obtaining the outfit is relatively easier, especially during the quest to join the Freestar Collective Rangers. On the other hand, the helmet, classified as a hat in the game, is commonly used by Ryujin's security personnel, as suggested by its name. Therefore, it can be obtained by either killing one of the corporation's guards or joining Ryujin Industries and progressing through its quest line. Ryujin Industries is a faction based in Neon, a futuristic city on the aquatic planet of Volii Alpha, which draws heavy inspiration from the cyberpunk genre.

The NCR Ranger uniform in Fallout: New Vegas is known for its distinctive elements, such as a heavier duster and a military-grade gas mask with a hard hat. However, players wanting to replicate this look can currently achieve a pretty close match with the combination of the First Officer Outfit and Ryujin Guard Helmet. In the future, it is highly likely that modders will create content that closely resembles the iconic appearance of NCR Rangers. Reskins and equipment packs are relatively easy to create, so it is only a matter of time before Fallout: New Vegas-inspired content is added to the PC version of the game Starfield.

Despite this, it is important to note that Starfield will not have official mod support at its release. Bethesda has confirmed that the game's Creation Kit, which allows for modding, will be released at a later date, but no specific date has been provided. Even without official tools, fans will still create Starfield content, but the full extent of modding activity will not occur until Bethesda releases the highly anticipated modding kit.
