NetEase Games has unveiled the debut gameplay trailer for Project: Mugen, an urban-themed open-world action RPG that draws inspiration from other acclaimed titles in the genre. The trailer showcases a distinctive anime-style fusion of Insomniac's Spider-Man, Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto, and HoYoverse's Genshin Impact. In August, the Chinese publisher initially teased fans with a teaser website and artwork, offering a glimpse of the expansive city players can explore. The game was formally announced at Gamescom 2023, and it is being developed by Naked Rain, one of NetEase's newest studios.

Project: Mugen by NetEase is set in a sprawling urban cityscape featuring the presence of motorcycles reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto's vehicles. The gameplay takes on an action RPG style similar to Genshin Impact. Notably, the ability to effortlessly swing between locations as Spider-Man has captured the attention of viewers and players alike.
