In Palia, a massively multiplayer online game, players can expect a unique experience that draws inspiration from popular cozy games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. The game also incorporates elements from Tears of the Kingdom and Genshin Impact, allowing players to enjoy the exhilarating activity of paragliding. Naturally, one of the first desirable accessories for players to obtain in their Palia adventure is the Glider.
While materials for crafting the Glider can be obtained early on at various stores in exchange for Gold, players will not be able to actually craft this essential accessory until they have progressed through the game's main story quest. As players advance, they will unlock numerous recipes and Crafters, which are specific workbenches within the game. These will provide the necessary resources for crafting the Glider. Here's a rundown of the steps players need to take in order to acquire the Glider in Palia.
How to Start the Quest “Like A Bird”
How to Complete the Quest “Like A Bird” and Get The Glider
The Glider can be acquired by advancing in Palia's main storyline, which revolves around a peculiar device discovered on the player's farm. Once the quest "Ancient Battery" is successfully completed at the ruins close to the player's arrival location in Palia, a subsequent quest called "Like a Bird" will be unlocked.
The player is assigned the quest "Like A Bird", which requires them to travel to Bahari Bay, an area situated east of Kilima Village, and engage in conversation with a girl named Najuma. Najuma, who is Hodari's daughter, resides in a workshop close to their residence and grants players the opportunity to enhance their Mining skills.
When the player speaks with Najuma, she tells them she can make them a Glider if they bring her the following materials:
3 Sapwood Plank
2 Fabric
5 Leather
If the player opts to purchase both the Leather and Fabric essential for the "Like A Bird" quest instead of crafting them, they will have to expend a combined sum of 680 Gold. Acquiring this amount shouldn't pose much of a challenge as they can engage in activities such as hunting, foraging, and fishing, and subsequently sell their acquired goods at Zeki's General Store.
How to get Sapwood Plank
To create Sapwood Planks, simply place Sapwood into a Sawmill Crafter. Crafting each Sapwood Plank takes one minute in real-time and necessitates one piece of Sapwood. You can acquire the recipe for the Basic Sawmill Crafter from Ashura once you reach Foraging Level 2. The recipe for crafting Sapwood Planks is automatically learned.
How to get Fabric
Fabric can be created by utilizing the specialized Fabric Loom, a dedicated Crafter capable of producing both Fabric and Leather. Acquiring this particular Crafter may require a significant amount of effort; however, since it is essential for crafting both materials, players should prioritize its construction as soon as possible.
Fabric is produced at the Fabric Loom using Cotton, which is cultivated from Cotton Seeds. These seeds can be purchased from the General Store in Kilima Village for 40 Gold per bag. It takes approximately 5 in-game days for the Cotton to fully grow. Alternatively, players seeking a quicker option can directly purchase Fabric from Tiff's Furniture Store for 190 Gold per piece.
How to get Leather
Leather is made by utilizing the Fabric Loom, just like in the process of crafting it. To obtain the Sernuk Hide needed for this, players must venture into the untamed lands of Palia and hunt down the deer-like creatures known as Sernuk. Armed with a bow and arrow, players can defeat these creatures and collect the valuable loot bags they drop. These loot bags have a chance of containing the coveted Sernuk hides.
Again, if the player chooses to bypass the time-consuming investment of the Fabric Loom and desires to swiftly craft the Glider, they have the option to buy Leather at Tish's Furniture Store for 60 Gold per piece.
How to Get the Glider
Once the necessary materials have been acquired, players should return to Najuma in Bahari Bay to hand in the items and complete the quest "Like A Bird." As a reward, Najuma will provide the player with the Glider. To utilize the Glider in Palia, simply hold down the space bar after leaping off a cliff or ledge. While gliding, players can alter their direction using the WASD keys, just like when navigating on land.
Palia is currently available in Open Beta on PC and will release on PC and Nintendo Switch at a later date.
