Final Fantasy 16: Gil Farming Techniques for Late Game
Gil serves as the predominant currency across all Final Fantasy games, offering players invaluable resources to assist their heroic journey. In Final Fantasy 16, a plethora of strategies exist for obtaining Gil, yet accumulating substantial amounts demands focused and targeted tactics.
Final Fantasy 16: Gil Farm (Early Game)
: Effective Ways to Farm Gil in Final Fantasy 16Upon pre-ordering Final Fantasy 16, players will be rewarded with the Cait Sith Charm, an accessory that augments the amount of Gil Clive gains by 25% when equipped. Starting the game with this accessory allows players to accumulate a substantial quantity of Gil as they advance through the storyline. However, for those aiming to amass even greater wealth, the key lies in undertaking side quests and triumphing over specific adversaries.
To enhance their Gil stash in the early stages of the game, players can participate in side quests in Final Fantasy 16. However, those seeking even greater riches must venture into Rosaria and Sanbreque and conquer the lurking foes. Eliminating Bluebirds proves particularly lucrative as they often reward Clive with invaluable treasures. Goblin Coins, Black Blood, and Gil Bugs, though useless for crafting purposes, can be sold exclusively for Gil. For optimal Gil farming, players can head north of Northreach, slay the two Bluebirds that appear, swiftly return to Northreach, and repeat the process.
If players are willing to go above and beyond in the hope of acquiring Gil, there is an exploit they can use involving restorative items. By taking advantage of Clive dying in combat, his restorative items will automatically replenish once he respawns. Players can then sell all of Clive's healables, intentionally die in combat to replenish them again, and subsequently sell them once more to make a profit. Although this method may be a bit time-consuming, it can be used indefinitely to efficiently farm Gil.
Final Fantasy 16: Gil Farm (Mid Game)
In the Home, Sweet Home main quest, players have the opportunity to obtain the Golden Testament, an accessory that boosts Clive's Gil intake by 35%. To maximize Clive's earnings, it is recommended to equip both the Golden Testament and the Cait Sith Charm, as this combination will increase his Gil intake by a total of 60%. In order to acquire the Golden Testament, Clive needs to visit Charon's shop located in The Hideaway and purchase it for the price of 5,000 Gil.
Clive will also acquire Gil by discovering and vanquishing Notorious Marks. The rewards obtained for defeating a Notorious Mark are listed beneath its description on the Hunt Board, allowing players to easily identify which one offers the highest Gil yield. In the event that players are dissatisfied with the amount of Gil earned from hunting Notorious Marks and completing side quests, they can choose to continue farming Bluebirds and selling valuable items.
Final Fantasy 16: Gil Farm (Late Game)
After arriving in The Kingdom of Waloed, players will probably have accumulated a staggering amount of Gil, but that doesn't mean they can't earn even more. Once again, taking on side quests and hunts is a fantastic method to expand Clive's wealth, but those seeking a significantly larger boost should set their sights on the coveted One Man's Treasure item.
To find this item, locate the map in the northwest area of The Great Southern Gate in The Kingdom of Waloed. After acquiring the map, travel to the Titan's Wake area of Dhalmekia and head towards the central southeastern offshoot. There, you will discover a chest containing the One Man's Treasure. Selling it can fetch you a hefty sum of 100,000 Gil.
For optimal Gil farming in the late game, venture into The Kingdom of Waloed and engage in combat with the lurking Hyenas. These resilient creatures have a high chance of dropping valuable Goblin Coins and can be located by heading east from the Ravenwit Walls Obelisk until reaching the outermost limits of the map.
Players in Final Fantasy Mode have the opportunity to obtain the Golden Testament 2 accessory, which boosts their Gil earnings by 50%. Unfortunately, this accessory is unattainable in the initial playthrough, meaning players must replay the story if they desire to acquire it.
Final Fantasy 16 is exclusively available on PlayStation 5.
