Enchanting is arguably the most overpowered Skill in Skyrim. When maxed out at Level 100, Enchanting has the potential to completely nullify incoming damage, eliminate Magicka Costs, significantly enhance other Skills, and fundamentally disrupt the game across all playstyles.
It is a Skill that every player will undoubtedly find tremendously valuable, but its initial strength is rather lackluster. Achieving these game-altering end-game Enchantments requires reaching the skill's maximum level. Reaching Level 100 in Enchanting can be a daunting task, but the rewards are undoubtedly worth the effort of disenchanting and optimizing boosts to get there.
Stack XP Boosts As Much As Possible
Mage Stone provides a 20% bonus to all skills related to magery, including Enchanting. For an enhanced effect, combine it with the Lover Stone and Aetherial Crown to receive a 35% bonus.
Lover Stone offers a 15% bonus to all skills. To maximize its benefits, use it in conjunction with the Mage Stone and Aetherial Crown, resulting in a 35% bonus.
Ahzidal's Armor Set provides a 10% boost to Enchanting when worn as a complete set. It can be obtained in Solstheim.
Alternative sources for enhancing Enchanting include utilizing custom-enchanted gear, potions, and the Seeker of Sorcery passive ability found within the Black Book: The Sallow Regent.
There are limited sources of XP boosts in Skyrim, with the primary ones coming from Standing Stones. The Mage Stone provides a 20% increase in XP gain for Magicka-related Skills, while The Lover Stone offers a 15% boost for all skills.
To maximize these bonuses, players can utilize the Aetherial Crown, combining both Standing Stone benefits into one, resulting in a 35% enhancement for Magicka-related Skills. Additionally, equipping the complete set of Ahzidal's Armor, obtainable in Solstheim, grants a 10% boost to Enchanting (although obtaining this requires a significant investment of Gold to fully open Kolbjorn Barrow).
Disenchant Everything You Won't Equip

To level Enchanting quickly and effectively, make sure to disenchant any items that you are not currently using. This includes everything, as disenchanting not only grants a substantial amount of Enchanting XP, but also allows you to transfer the enchantment onto a new piece of gear.
Although it may be tempting to hold onto memorable or unique weapons for display purposes, you may eventually want to utilize their effects on other equipment. If a weapon cannot be disenchanted, it means that either the player already has knowledge of the enchantment or it is simply not possible to disenchant. This method often results in gaining multiple Enchanting levels simultaneously, especially at lower levels.
Visit An Enchanting Trainer Once Each Level

To optimize the training system, players are encouraged to consistently enhance their Enchanting skill during each level by visiting trainers and investing money. It is crucial to prioritize this practice as unused training slots do not carry over upon leveling up. This ensures that players can increment their Enchanting skill by 5 with every level, as long as they possess the necessary funds.
Soul Trap Everything (And Keep A Hoard Of Soul Gems)
In Skyrim, locating Enchanting trainers can be quite a task due to their scarcity. However, the simplest trainer to find is Sergius Turrianus situated at the College of Winterhold. It should be noted that his training is limited to Enchanting 75. Once players reach this level, they can turn to either Neloth in Solstheim or Hamal in Markarth's Temple of Dibella for further training, as they have the ability to teach up to Level 90.

The Soul Gem is essential for Enchanters, serving multiple purposes. It can be utilized during the Enchanting process and also to refill drained weapon Enchantments. Regardless of the type, ranging from Petty to Black Soul Gems, they can all be used to imbue traits onto gear. Unfortunately, refilling a weapon's Enchantment does not contribute to the Enchanting skill. However, these Soul Gems are incredibly lightweight and should be collected whenever possible.
While the Soul Trap spell is affordable, attaching the Soul Trap Enchantment to your preferred weapon is a far more effective method of regularly filling Soul Gems. The greatest advantage is that if you don't exhaust them all at an Arcane Enchanter, filled Soul Gems can be sold for a significantly higher value than their empty counterparts.
Farming Each Type Of Soul Gem
Non-unique Soul Gems can be obtained in the world through two methods: by exploring specific locations or by defeating certain enemies. Soul Gems of different levels can be dropped by Dwarven Automatons, hostile or friendly Mages, and other spell-casting foes. The power of the Soul Gems obtained will increase as you progress in levels.
Farming Souls For Each Soul Gem
Soul Gems, essential for capturing souls, can be purchased from various merchants across Skyrim. However, they come with a hefty price tag. On the other hand, a few can be obtained by looting them after achieving the title of Arch-Mage. For a truly unique experience, there are two special Soul Gems known as The Black Star and Azura's Star. The former acts as a reusable Black Soul Gem while the latter holds Grand Souls. These exclusive gems can only be obtained by embarking on Azura's Daedric questline.

Enemy Types | Common animals (wolf, crab, deer etc) | Strong animals (bear, sabertooth, etc) | Strong nonhumans (trolls, giant spiders, etc) | Large nonhumans (giants, atronachs, etc) | Massive nonhumans (dragons, mammoths, etc) | All humanoid settlements (forts, outposts, towns, etc) |
To level up your Enchanting skill efficiently, focus on acquiring a large number of Souls and fully charging Soul Gems before heading back to the Enchanting Table. Certain locations are more suitable for obtaining Souls of different types, but it is crucial to consider your own level. Avoid venturing into the wilderness if you require a filled Black Soul Gem.
Enchant Every Basic Item You Can Loot Or Buy
If you do not possess the appropriate Soul Gem for a particular enemy, please note that the soul of said enemy will be encapsulated in a higher-level Soul Gem instead. Therefore, refrain from using Soul Trap on Wolves if you only have Grand Soul Gems in your inventory, as this will result in a Grand Soul Gem containing a Petty Soul, making it essentially worthless.

To perform the act of Enchanting, you will need three essential elements: a Soul Gem, the desired Enchantment, and a piece of equipment to bestow the Enchantment upon. While exploring dungeons, it might be tempting to overlook unenchanted basic gear. However, if you aim to swiftly advance your Enchanting skills, it is advisable to allocate space for some of these conventional weapons and armors.
The
Don't Read Skill Books Until After Enchanting Lvl 90
is that the lighter the item, the better. This is because the XP gained for Enchanting an item depends more on the power of the Enchantment, rather than the strength of the item itself. Therefore, it is advisable to prioritize picking up Daggers, Short Swords, Helmets, Boots, and Bracers. These items not only occupy minimal inventory space but also offer the opportunity to be imbued with a variety of helpful and valuable bonuses. To level up Enchanting efficiently, it is crucial to avoid reading any Enchanting Skill Books until you have exhausted all the knowledge offered by trainers. Once you reach Level 90, there is nothing new that trainers in Skyrim can teach you about Enchanting. Until then, refrain from indulging in these books.

It is advisable to read this book immediately upon reaching level 90 in Enchanting, in order to boost it to level 95. Afterward, it is recommended to continue leveling up normally while searching for the remaining five Skill Books.
