The Advanced Va'ruun Inflictor rifle in Starfield is a powerful weapon with great potential due to its unique perks and high base damage.
Arkai zealots are scattered throughout the Settled Systems, and vanquishing them may yield rare Va'ruun weapons, such as the coveted Inflictor rifle.
SaltyMeatBoy, an active member of the Starfield subreddit, has devised a powerful loadout that amplifies the damage output of the Va'ruun Inflictor. By capitalizing on the perks offered by Laser, Particle Beam, Marksmanship, and Sniper Certification, this setup transforms the weapon into an unstoppable force within the game.
In the late game of Starfield, there are numerous broken builds to be discovered, but none compare to the remarkable potential of the Advanced Va'ruun Inflictor rifle. House Va'ruun remains shrouded in mystery within the Starfield universe, as the religious faction has yet to play a prominent role in the Settled Systems like the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective. While a single Constellation follower in Starfield has connections to House Va'ruun, the capital city of Dazra has wisely been reserved for DLC content exploration.
However, Va'ruun zealots can be encountered throughout the Settled Systems. By consulting the Star Map in Starfield, players can select a planet or moon within their desired level range and chances are that the first ship they encounter while exploring will bring a few zealots. These adversaries have the potential to drop unique Va'ruun weapons, which primarily consist of the Painblade knife, the Starshard pistol, and the Inflictor rifle. Apart from the Painblade, these firearms are among the limited selection of Particle Beam weapons, granting them the ability to utilize a wide range of advantageous traits.
SaltyMeatBoy's build truly excels in maximizing the damage of the Advanced Va'ruun Inflictor by incorporating several advantageous mods. Although the showcased rifle in the picture is of Legendary quality, even the Advanced tier Va'ruun Inflictor can greatly benefit from this build. The Legendary modifiers are like the cherry on top, providing an additional boost.
The build operates by leveraging both Laser and Particle Beam perks from Starfield's combat tree. Additionally, the Va'ruun Inflictor gains advantages from the Rifle Certification, despite not being an automatic rifle, as well as the ability to equip a scope, allowing it to also benefit from the Marksmanship and Sniper Certification. At the highest level of Marksmanship, players can stagger their opponents with the next shot after a critical hit, while the Sniper Certification offers a critical strike chance bonus for each headshot. In practice, this Starfield weapon offers a consistent stagger effect against any enemy, while its formidable base damage (exceeding 1400) should not be underestimated.
The Va'ruun Inflictor can be further enhanced by attaching a Spread Nozzle, splitting the main beam into three individual beams. Each beam has its own chance to land a critical hit with a single pull of the trigger. If at least one beam achieves a critical hit, the remaining two beams automatically cause the enemy to stagger. The combination of various perks in Starfield creates a synergistic effect that elevates this weapon to a highly effective status. Regrettably, there is currently no dedicated Va'ruun shotgun weapon in the game. However, it is hopeful that Bethesda will expand the range of weapons in Starfield through future DLCs.
Starfield is available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
