The recently released official Starfield PC spec recommendations allow AMD users to determine the necessary hardware for optimal enjoyment of Bethesda's highly anticipated space RPG epic. Starfield, which was announced in 2018, made waves as Bethesda's first new IP in over a quarter-century. Within this expansive interstellar journey, players will assume the persona of a fully customizable space explorer and traverse a galaxy teeming with procedurally-generated planets.
Starfield appears to be an exceptionally ambitious game, as showcased in previous trailers that highlight its impressive graphics and extensive range of customization choices. Although some fans have engaged in debates regarding potential visual downgrades throughout its prolonged development process, few can deny the immense scale of Bethesda's latest first-person, role-playing adventure. Notably, while the Xbox console version of Starfield will be capped at 30 FPS, PC owners will not face this limitation, granted they possess an SSD and the necessary hardware to run the game at its highest performance.
Now gamers have a clearer understanding of the hardware requirements, especially for computers running on AMD processors. The official AMD website recently shared a checklist of Starfield AMD system recommendations, which was also shared by popular Twitter user and video game rumor hunter shinobi602. These recommendations are divided into three distinct settings: the Legendary Experience, which allows players to enjoy Starfield in full 4K resolution using the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT; the Epic Experience, which provides solid 1440p with high FPS thanks to the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X and AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series; and the Heroic Experience, which supports 1080p through the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and AMD Radeon RX 7600.
Towards the end of last month, AMD made an announcement stating that they will be the exclusive partner for the PC version of Starfield. They also mentioned that the game was specifically designed with their top AMD GPUs, such as the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and AMD Radeon RX 6800 Series, in mind. Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard has been generating excitement for Starfield's PC port in recent weeks, promising that it will be a haven for modders who want to explore beyond the game's already vast 1,000-planet universe.
The best way to explore the said galaxy would be with AMD. PC gamers now have information on the specific chipsets required for the full graphical experience of Starfield. While there are no similar detailed lists available for other processor brands such as Intel or NVIDIA, it is hoped that Starfield will run equally well on all machines when it is finally released this fall. The launch of Starfield is scheduled for September 6 on PC and Xbox Series X.
