Disney Dreamlight Valley offers the unique experience of living in a village alongside beloved characters from Disney and Pixar. Initially, only a few characters reside in the valley at the beginning of the game. To have a diverse collection of Disney characters in the valley, you must undertake various quests and tasks to bring them back. Read on to learn how to unlock all the characters currently available in Disney Dreamlight Valley, including the challenging Prince Eric.

Meet Merlin from The Sword in the Stone, the first character awaiting you in Disney Dreamlight Valley. This magical wizard is ready to accompany you right from the start of the game.

Wall-E

Wall-E, the beloved robot from Pixar, is currently residing in Disney Dreamlight Valley. To unlock his realm, the Magic Castle must be accessed. Once inside, a quest awaits where you assist Wall-E in cleaning up garbage cubes, planting plants, and collecting knick-knacks. Upon successful completion, Wall-E will joyfully join your valley as a cherished friend.

Moana

To explore Moana's realm, Dreamlight must be spent. Located on her island, you'll need to gather various items to aid in repairing her ship. Together, you will embark on a mission to find an ideal fishing spot for her village by searching the nearby areas on the ship. After discovering the perfect location, Moana can be brought to the valley by placing her house on the beach.

Maui

Moana and Maui can both be found in Moana's Realm. However, Maui can only be invited to the island once Moana has relocated there. To bring Maui to the island, you'll need to prepare a couple of specific dishes that Moana mentioned he enjoys. Once you deliver the dishes and clear out some of the beach clutter, Maui will ask you to place his home directly in the ocean, in a spot within the Valley.

Remy

To unlock Remy, head to the Magic Castle and enter the Ratatouille realm. There, Remy will inform you that he's too busy managing his restaurant to come to the Valley. But if you assist him, he'll agree to join. Your task is to create a three-course meal by making the dishes Remy suggests. He'll provide you with two options for each course and verbally guide you through the required ingredients for each dish. If you're having trouble, refer to our comprehensive recipe guide. To successfully complete the quest, you'll need to prepare Ratatouille for the critic, just like in the movie.

Ariel

Get the recipe for Ratatouille by following our guide if you're having trouble making it. Once you've got the recipe, find a spot in the Valley to set up Remy's home and he'll move in.

Ariel

Ariel can be located on an island close to the Valley. To unlock Ariel and Prince Eric, complete the "The Mysterious Wreck" quest for Goofy. This quest becomes available once you've unlocked Dazzle Beach. Visit the small island in the southeastern part of Dazzle Beach, where you'll find a shipwreck on its southern side. Look for the nearby oar to begin the quest. After conversing with Goofy, he'll assign you the task of repairing the ship, which requires several materials.

Once repaired, utilize the boat to voyage to another island where you will discover Arial in the water just off the beach. Arial will inform you that she cannot return to the valley as she is unable to discern its direction, as it no longer feels like home. Return to the valley and construct a beachside dwelling for Arial, at which point she will relocate there.

Prince Eric

Unlocking Prince Eric in Disney Dreamlight Valley is a complex endeavor and likely one of the final characters you will achieve, as it requires maximizing Ursula's friendship. To unlock Prince Eric, follow our comprehensive guide below.

Ursula

To unlock Ursula, make your way to Dazzle Beach, the southernmost biome in the Valley. Once you arrive, Merlin will assign you the task of restoring the orb to its pillar in order to fend off the Forgetting. To achieve this, you must venture into a nearby cave where you will encounter Ursula. However, you cannot recruit her until you retrieve the orb and return it to the pillar. To obtain the orb, you must solve three riddles as part of the "With Great Power…" quest in another nearby cave. Once you successfully complete the quest and restore the pillar, Ursula will be freed from the cave.

Anna

To find Anna, explore the Frozen Realm situated on the second floor of the Magic Castle. Inside the Frozen Realm, you will come across Anna immediately, seeking your assistance in pacifying the elemental spirits in the area. Extinguish fires and pursue the fire spirit, followed by preparing rock soup for the earth giant. Proceed forward to locate Elsa on the opposite side of a tumultuous river. Afterwards, retrieve some metal from a nearby pond to calm the spirit. Once all of these tasks are accomplished, you will need to aid Elsa in appeasing the wind spirit by crafting three windchimes to be placed on trees in the realm. Once the windchimes are in position, the spirits will ease up and Anna will agree to relocate to the Valley.

Elsa

Once Anna has made the move to the Valley, you can persuade Elsa to join her. The key to convincing Elsa lies in completing Anna's initial quest in the Valley. Anna will express interest in exploring an ice cavern nearby as a potential new home for Elsa. However, there are obstacles in the form of wooden stumps blocking the path to the cavern. To overcome this, you'll need to upgrade your shovel by collecting the necessary components and crafting the upgrade at a crafting bench.

With the upgraded shovel in hand, venture into the Forest of Valor and use it to clear a path to the Ice Cavern. Take a picture of the cavern once you reach it, which will enable Anna to write a persuasive letter to Elsa. Your task is to then deliver this letter back in the Frozen Realm, prompting Elsa to make the decision to move to the Valley.

Kristoff

Kristoff is found in the Forest of Valor, an unlockable biome situated east of the plaza and northeast of Dazzle Beach. Upon unlocking the Forest of Valor, you will come across Kristoff standing near a portal, close to the Pillar in the southern part of the area. Engaging in a conversation with him will initiate the quest to restore the orb in the Forest of Valor and unlock Kristoff as a friend.

Mother Gothel

Mother Gothel can be located in the Glade of Trust, a swamp-like biome positioned in the southwestern part of the Valley. At the heart of the Glade of Trust lies a large tree, which serves as Mother Gothel's dwelling. Venture inside and communicate with her. She will disclose that she employed dark magic to create a spell that would confine someone within their home, but it unexpectedly backfired, leaving her trapped in her own abode. Your entry into her residence resulted in the release of the magic.

Donald Duck

By unlocking Mother Gothel as a character in the Valley, you will temporarily lock some characters in their homes until her quest is completed.

Donald Duck can be located in the Forest of Valor within the Dark Grove. To reach this area, you must pass through the portal near Kristoff while progressing through the main quest. Once you enter the portal, seek assistance from Merlin to find a solution to rescue Donald.

Goofy

To create an Enchanted Feather, you must combine certain materials with a plant sourced from the Dark Grove. Once the feather is formed, return to the Dark Grove and diligently follow its floating path. It is crucial to navigate flawlessly, as any wrong turns will necessitate starting over. Seek out Donald at the end of the Dark Grove and escort him back to the Valley.

Goofy is already residing in the Valley at the beginning of the game, but you must advance through the tutorial before encountering him. As you progress, the Peaceful Meadow will be unlocked, granting access to Goofy's initial stall and house. After revealing this area, you will have the opportunity to meet Goofy and assume the responsibility of refurbishing his stall by compensating Scrooge.

Mickey Mouse

This task requires you to complete a series of fetch quests in Bonnie's room to assist Buzz and Woody in organizing a play for Bonnie.

As part of the quest, you will be required to take pictures of Bonnie's drawings. Buzz will express his desire to enhance these drawings using materials that are not available in Bonnie's room. To help him, invite Buzz to live in your valley and search for the materials there. Return to your valley and construct Buzz's RV at your desired location to unlock his friendship.

Woody

In order to unlock Woody, you must follow the steps outlined in Buzz Lightyear's unlock requirements. Complete the "A Secret Mission in Uncharted Space" quest until you encounter Woody in Bonnie's Room. Proceed further to unlock Buzz's friendship by constructing his RV in your valley. Then, go back to the Toy Story realm and have a conversation with Woody to initiate the "You're My Favorite Deputy" quest.

During the "My Favorite Deputy" quest, you will be instructed to collect various scattered items in the room. Woody will then ask you to gather two yellow daisies and speak with Buzz. Upon doing so, Buzz will provide you with glue. Subsequently, you can pick the daisies in Peaceful Meadow before returning to Woody. Your final task for Woody is to gather Bonnie's origami animals from around the room. Once you complete this task, Woody will agree to explore Dreamlight Valley. Upon logging in after Olaf's addition to the game, we were given the quest "The Great Blizzard." Begin by talking to Merlin about the blizzard in Frosted Heights. Then, proceed to the northern wall and locate a new door with footprints outside. Inside, Olaf will request your help in tracking down four shadowy squirrels to retrieve his belongings amid the blizzard. Afterward, speak with Elsa and proceed to the pillar in Frosted Heights. Water the glowing spot in front of it, and engage in some casual conversation.

Mirabel

Olaf will request that you complete several tasks within the cave before asking you to collect certain items. Begin by collecting the broken pieces of the prism that are scattered throughout the cave. Next, gather the remaining materials that are listed in the quest and use them to craft the Dreamlight Prism. Once you have completed this, return to the cave and place the prism on the pedestal near Olaf. Now, shift your focus to the six pedestals ahead and carefully place an amethyst on the bottom right, a citrine on the middle left, and an emerald on the upper right. These simple final steps will ensure that you earn Olaf as your friend.

Mirabel

Mirabel will require you to locate a golden doorknob somewhere in the valley and run a few errands in order to gain her friendship. Refer to our comprehensive guide for assistance with unlocking Mirabel.

Nala

Unlocking Nala requires a visit to the Lion King realm, accessible by spending 10,000 Dreamlight to open the castle gate. Upon arrival, Nala will present the "Eyes in the Dark" quest, involving the excavation of old bushes and planting their seeds to prevent hyenas from passing through a certain path. Subsequently, accompany Nala to the jungle where she will task you with locating Simba. Cross the swift-flowing water and use your pickaxe to break a stone, causing a tree to fall. Traverse the fallen tree to find Simba deeper within the jungle.

Escort Simba back to Nala and engage in conversation with him to continue the quest. He will request that you collect a number of grubs scattered throughout the realm. Catch three near the lions and then journey back to the dried-out oasis to find six more. Following this, Simba will ask you to dig up a stump close to his initial location and then capture six red bugs. Once these tasks are completed, prepare some Bug Platters and offer them to Nala.

Simba

To obtain the Sound System, you will need to return to your valley and have a conversation with Scrooge McDuck. Afterwards, you will need to repair the system by using 10 Softwood, 5 Hardwood, and 2 Iron Ingots. Once you have completed the repairs, bring it back to Nala and continue conversing with her until she instructs you to place Pride Rock in your valley. Follow her guidance and Nala will relocate to the valley, where she will present you with the next task of recruiting Simba.

Unlocking Simba will entail visiting the Lion King realm, which you can access by investing 10,000 Dreamlight to open the castle. Accompany Nala on her quest within the realm until she joins you in the valley. Once she has made the transition, she will assign you the "Stars to Guide Us" quest. Return to the Lion King Realm and have a discussion with Simba. Follow him until you are prompted to go and speak with Merlin.

Fairy Godmother

Unlocking the Fairy Godmother starts by visiting her pumpkin home in the Forgotten Lands. Speak to her to initiate the "Miracles Take Time" quest, which initially requires you to gather five Softwood, five Fiber, and two Purified Night Shards. Return to the Lion King Realm and have a conversation with Simba. Then, place the crafted Rafiki's Walking Stick on the stone beside him. Once the cutscene is over, choose to restore the dried-up oasis and follow Simba there. Inform him that you will find some plants and proceed to dig up the glowing plants in the jungle to collect nine seeds. Take the seeds back to Simba, plant them in nine designated spots, and speak to him again. Now, use your pickaxe to break a nearby rock and allow water to flow back into the dried-up oasis. Speak to Simba once more and then return to your valley with him to join.

Inside, search for scattered memories on pedestals and collect them. Give the gathered memories to Fairy Godmother and proceed through the next portal with her. Approach Mickey and collect five flowers. Use the flowers to craft the Hideous Bouquet. Give the bouquet to Minne, who is nearby, and then return to Mickey. Mickey will instruct you to talk to Goofy. Collect the necessary ingredients from the surrounding area and prepare the meal for Goofy. Once the meal is ready, deliver it to Goofy. Now, speak to Minne again to trigger a cutscene.

After the cutscene, go outside and speak to the Fairy Godmother. Enter the next portal and engage in a conversation with Mother Gothel. Follow her to the pillar, remove the orb, and show it to her. Fish from the golden puddles until you find her missing mirror. Return the mirror to her. After the cutscene, retrieve the memory from the pedestal and follow Fairy Godmother to the final portal.

Vanellope

To begin Vanellope's quest, speak to Scar inside the last portal. Then, proceed to kick all of the flowers in the surrounding area. Once you have spoken to Scar again, find the Night Thorn Seeds by a rock in this area. Plant and water them at the designated spots mentioned in the quest. Retrieve the orb and bring it back to Scar. Afterwards, Merlin will approach you and engage in a conversation. When you reunite with Fairy Godmother, take the final memory from the pedestal. Attempt to acquire the Orb of Remembrance located in the center of the room, only to have it stolen from under you. Upon returning to Fairy Godmother in the Forgotten Realms, you will finally unlock her as a villager.

Belle

To unlock Belle, you need to go to the Dream Castle and use 12,500 Dreamlight to open the Beauty and the Beast Realm. This will trigger the "Into the West Wing!" quest, which requires you to explore the Realm. Once you enter the Beauty and the Beast Realm, go straight up the stairs until you find a glowing book. Follow it through the castle hallways until you reach Belle in the library.

Belle will then ask you to collect five glowing books within the library. Search the area and gather them, then return to Belle. She will then instruct you to find a secret passage, which can be found near the rolling ladder in the corner of the room. However, before you can access the secret passage, you need to explore the library and locate four ladder straps and two wheels. These can be easily found glowing on the ground or on tables. Once you have these items, go to the ladder and use them to open the secret passage.

Speak to Belle again before embarking on a search for Castle Candles, Castle Candle Holders, and a Golden Curtain. In the library, you will discover one Castle Candle and the Golden Curtain. Additionally, there is another Castle Candle positioned against the wall with the tools in the courtyard. As for the Castle Candle Holder, you can locate it in a chair within a hallway adorned with lion statues. Lastly, the last two Castle Candles can be found near the piano in the main lobby and inside a secret passage that you unlocked, resting on a barrel.
