Necromancer Summoner builds often lose effectiveness in the late game of Diablo 4. However, by utilizing the appropriate equipment, skills, and playstyle, these builds can be just as powerful as other popular setups. This also applies to hybrid builds which require more active involvement from players.
The inclusion of blood skills provides Necromancers with a wide range of offensive and defensive choices. Additionally, the ability to summon minions allows players to compensate for any weaknesses in their primary abilities. Here is a suggested Diablo 4 Necromancer build that combines blood and bone to assist players in transitioning to higher difficulties such as Nightmare and beyond.
Diablo 4 Blood Summoner Necromancer Guide
Skills | Total Points |
Acolyte's Hemorrhage | 3 |
Paranormal Blood Surge | 7 |
Blighted Corpse Explosion | 3 |
Plagued Corpse Tendrils | 7 |
Book of the Dead | Upgrades |
Reapers | 2 |
Cold Mages | 1 |
Bone Golem | Sacrificed |
This build focuses on utilizing Blood Surge, along with Skeletal Warriors and Mages, to address the challenges of single-target damage and Essence generation. By employing this setup, players can generate a multitude of Blood Orbs and consume a significant number of Corpses, resulting in devastating Overpower damage that can effortlessly eliminate hordes of enemies in an entire screen.
Utilize Acolyte's Hemorrhage to enhance attack speed and facilitate quicker Essence generation. Nonetheless, if players desire greater Overpower damage, they should opt for Initiate's Hemorrhage to increase Fortify generation.
Paranormal Blood Surge, Blighted Corpse Explosion, and Plagued Corpse Tendrils synergistically combine to swiftly eliminate large groups of foes. The latter skill harmonizes with offensive effects that amplify the damage of the other two abilities, solidifying its indispensable role in the build.
As for minions, incorporating Reapers and Cold Mages into your lineup can prove advantageous for both extra Corpse creation and increased Essence generation. Since Blood Surge is a skill that demands a significant amount of resources, the additional Essence provided by Cold Mages could greatly assist in overcoming this obstacle.
Passive Skills
Skills | Points |
Unliving Energy | 3 |
Hewed Flesh | 3 |
Skeletal Warrior Mastery | 3 |
Grim Harvest | 3 |
Fueled by Death | 3 |
Death's Embrace | 3 |
Skeletal Mage Mastery | 3 |
Gruesome Mending | 1 |
Coalesced Blood | 3 |
Transfusion | 1 |
Tides of Blood | 3 |
Bonded in Essence | 3 |
Death's Defense | 3 |
Rathma's Vigor | 1 |
Hewed Flesh activates more often than expected, serving as a crucial resource for Corpse skills and the player's own Essence generation through Grim Harvest. Furthermore, acquiring additional Corpses becomes essential for leveraging one of the Legendary Aspects mentioned below.
To enhance the durability of minions, players should prioritize obtaining the Blood and Skeleton Mastery passives, along with Bonded in Essence and Death's Defense. To ensure their own survival, players will heavily rely on healing abilities such as Death's Embrace, Blood Mist, and Blood Orb.
Gear and Aspects
When it comes to prioritizing between Rathma's Vigor and Kalan's Edict in this particular build, Rathma's Vigor should take precedence due to its reliance on the player being in close proximity to enemies. It is crucial to pay attention to the stack counter located on top of the EXP bar to avoid squandering the Overpower proc on a cast of Hemorrhage.
Offense | Defense | Utility |
Blood-bathed | Disobedience | Potent Blood |
Reanimation | Might | Blood Getter |
Grasping Veins | Embalmer | Viscous |
Frenzied Dead |
Utilize Blood Getter and Viscous to obtain more skeletons and enhance the damage of Reanimation. Ideally, players should equip Deathspeaker's Pendant to unleash mini-Blood Surges from minions upon casting. However, since this Unique item is rare, many players may have to settle for an amulet with Frenzied Dead instead.
The majority of damage caused by Blood Surge will be from Overpower procs, limiting players' options for offensive Aspects. Blood-bathed can cause Blood Surge to explode twice, but that is the extent of it. Enhance Overpower damage by socketing Rubies onto weapons and utilize Essence sources like Potent Blood to continually cast Blood Surge.
As for gear, players should prioritize maximizing their Overpower and Vulnerable damage. In addition, it is beneficial to incorporate some extra Life, Essence cost reduction, and bonuses for minions whenever available. Incorporating Cooldown Reduction will be advantageous in spamming Corpse Tendril while enabling the constant activation of critical buffs in relation to Grasping Veins.
Paragon Boards
When players start playing the game, their first priority should be to navigate to the Bone Graft board and acquire the Reinvigorate node. This particular node enhances the player's abilities by providing +2 Essence whenever they eliminate an enemy. By obtaining this node, players will have the advantage of using Blood Surge more frequently during battles, increasing their chances of activating the powerful Overpower ability.
Proceed by immediately heading towards a fresh board and linking Blood Begets Blood. The clusters found in this region will significantly enhance the Necromancer's offensive abilities when they acquire a Blood Orb, while also granting additional benefits to their maximum health and healing capacity.
Bloodbath serves as an excellent alternative as it amplifies the potency of Overpower damage. Additionally, the accompanying Fortify bonuses will effectively bolster the Necromancer's endurance and overall offensive power during prolonged battles.
When it comes to glyphs, it is recommended to prioritize Blood-drinker for the increased Fortify generation upon collecting a Blood Orb and Dominate for additional damage against enemies struck by Overpower attacks.
Diablo 4 is currently accessible on various platforms including PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.
