Diablo 4: How to Get Doombringer
Maximizing your chances of obtaining the super-rare Unique 1H Sword, Doombringer, in Diablo 4 is no easy task. This weapon has become a coveted addition to endgame builds among players, but its scarcity is a major obstacle. As of now, there has only been one confirmed drop recorded. However, fret not, as there are strategies you can employ to improve your odds of acquiring a Doombringer in Diablo 4. Let this guide shed light on these approaches. In order to find a Doombringer, players should focus on battling Level 85+ enemies on World Tier 4. Lead Class Designer Adam Jackson has confirmed that only these enemies have a chance to drop the super-rare Uniques in Diablo 4. It is advised that fans who are farming lower level monsters should not expect to stumble upon one.
There are two methods for locating Level 85+ enemies in Diablo 4. The first option is to progress to Level 85 with a character, as this will cause all the monsters in the overworld to be at an appropriate level. Alternatively, players can target Tier 31+ Nightmare Dungeons, where the enemies will always be Level 85+. This latter approach comes highly recommended.
To increase their chances of obtaining a Doombringer, players should prioritize clearing maps with a high concentration of Skeletons rather than attempting every Nightmare Dungeon. It is widely thought that Skeletons have a higher probability of dropping 1H Swords, increasing the likelihood of obtaining the desired Unique item. The following list presents the Diablo 4 Nightmare Dungeons where players can encounter plentiful Skeletons, ranked from most favorable for XP farming to least:
1. Demon's Wake
Maulwood
Sunken Ruins
Kor Dragan Barracks
Zenith
In Diablo 4, there is a "monster family" system that determines what types of items enemies are more likely to drop. Associate Game Director Joseph Piepiora confirmed this system in an April 2023 Developer Update Live Stream. Through community exploration, it has been determined that Skeletons are the most reliable source for 1H Swords.
Despite the diligent efforts of Diablo 4 players who dedicated significant time to farming the six Nightmare Dungeons mentioned earlier, obtaining a Doombringer remains highly unlikely. As mentioned before, the drop rate for this weapon is extremely minuscule, and even the most determined fans may never come across one while maximizing their chances.
Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
