To successfully navigate his dual role as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live, Bad Bunny cleverly recruited a star-studded lineup of special guests to assist him.
Bad Bunny, aged 29, kicked off his opening monologue on Saturday, October 21st, expressing his excitement and gratitude for being a part of the esteemed SNL hosts.
"I'm Benito, and I am incredibly thrilled to be here on Saturday Night Live," began the rapper, alluding to his full name, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio. "There may be some skepticism about my ability to host this show due to English not being my first language. However, I want to clarify that I possess the freedom to do as I please. Hence, I am fully capable of hosting this show in English, proficiently ordering McDonald's in English, and even engaging in activities in English, such as intercourse. Yet, I must confess that I personally prefer partaking in the act of lovemaking in Spanish, as it holds a superior essence. Spanish is my preference."
Bad Bunny then changed his monologue and spoke to the SNL audience in his native language, Spanish. However, he was displeased when he noticed that the show only provided a subtitle for his non-English speech on the screen. To resolve this, Bad Bunny called upon surprise guest Pedro Pascal for assistance.
"I'd like to invite my friend to join me. Pedro?" Bad Bunny announced.
Pascal, aged 48, then inquired if the musician known as the "Party" desired him to interpret the remainder of his speech.
"He expresses, 'I feel fortunate to be present here alongside my preferred actor, Pedro Pascal,'" conveyed the star of The Last of Us, who had previously hosted an episode of SNL in its 48th season earlier this year. Following the translation, Pascal proceeded to offer some advice to Bad Bunny for concluding the monologue, stating, "I often find it endearing when you incorporate self-deprecating humor, where you make a joke about a less flattering aspect of your body or your appearance... You know what else works? Audiences adore it when you share an embarrassing photograph of yourself."

Bad Bunny did not have either of those additions readily available since, according to Pascal, "There's clearly no aspect about you that is mock-worthy."
Following Bad Bunny's teasing of the "spectacular performance," Pascal remained for a sketch. He once again portrayed cast member Marcello Hernandez's "Overprotective Mother," a character he first introduced during his hosting debut in February, while Bad Bunny took on the role of Hernandez's aunt.

Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance on SNL to introduce Bad Bunny's much-anticipated singing performance. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Bad Bunny," exclaimed Gaga, 37, before the rap star took the stage to perform his brand new song, "Un Preview."

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger made a surprise appearance on Saturday during Bad Bunny and Hernandez's SNL sketch about shooting a telenovela. In the sketch, after the duo filmed a scene with plenty of fake slaps, their co-star Punkie Johnson struggled to recite her lines even though she didn't understand Spanish. Adding to the comedic moment, Jagger, sporting a mustache, played the role of Bad Bunny and Hernandez's onscreen father and playfully slapped them both.
