Unexplored Frontiers: Star Trek's Beloved Alien Unites with the Enchanted Enterprise of Strange New Worlds

Strange New Worlds' Enterprise embarks on an epic encounter as it welcomes the captivating Denobulan alien from Star Trek: Enterprise Brace yourself for an interstellar adventure like never before!

In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2, episode 3 titled "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow," a new Denobulan character was introduced. This marks the first appearance of a Denobulan in live-action since Dr. Phlox in Star Trek: Enterprise. It should be noted that Strange New Worlds takes place approximately a century after the adventures of Captain Jonathan Archer and the NX-01 Enterprise, the first Starfleet ship capable of Warp 5 and deep space exploration. This season establishes that another Denobulan has joined the crew of the USS Enterprise, which serves as the flagship of the United Federation of Planets.

A Twitter user named Jörg Hillebrand (@gaghyogi49) highlighted the significance of this introduction, stating that it is the first time a Denobulan character has been seen in the 23rd century and in live-action since Dr. Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise. The character, known as Denobulan Cadet and portrayed by Sean Melorum, becomes involved in a conflict with Chief Jay (Noah Lamanna) over a stolen ring. Caught in the middle of this dispute is Security Chief Lt. La'an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong). Please see the Tweet below for reference.

Will Star Trek: Enterprise Characters Appear In Strange New Worlds?

Since the announcement of Strange New Worlds, fans have eagerly expressed their desire for cameos or appearances by characters from Star Trek: Enterprise. Given that Captain Christopher Pike's five-year mission takes place only a century after Captain Archer's voyages, it is conceivable that some characters from Enterprise may still be alive. For example, the resident Vulcan on Enterprise, T'Pol, could potentially meet Lt. Spock. Additionally, Denobulans are known for their long lifespans, so it is possible that Dr. Phlox could make an appearance in Strange New Worlds. Furthermore, there is a chance that an elderly Jonathan Archer, who served as the first Federation President, may still be alive in 2259.

Notably, Denobulans have been featured in Star Trek: Lower Decks and Star Trek: Prodigy. In the latter series, a Denobulan Starfleet Lieutenant named Barniss Frex was stationed at a Federation relay station in the Delta Quadrant where he encountered the young crew of the USS Protostar. Barniss Frex was the most significant Denobulan character since Dr. Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise. However, it is conceivable that the Denobulan Cadet in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds may have an expanded role in upcoming seasons, such as season 2 or season 3.
