Since the release of Marvel's first crime-fighting team, The Avengers, in 2012, there has been a noticeable lack of female representation in the MCU. Natasha Romanoff, portrayed by Scarlett Johansson, has been the primary female character in a leadership role. Even when she finally had her own film, Black Widow, it was released after her character's canonical death. Furthermore, when groups of women are shown together, it often feels like a brief and superficial inclusion, as seen in Avengers: Endgame.

Rumors suggest that this superhero team, known as the "Daughters of Liberty," will soon join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (#DaughtersOfLiberty). The insider shared a comic panel featuring the potential members of the team, hinting at a possible live-action adaptation. This news might come as a surprise to fans who were expecting A-Force to be the first all-female team in the MCU.
The Daughters of Liberty, true to their name, have always prioritized freedom. Since colonial times, this American organization has fought against oppression with their specialized training in combat and magic. Although Peggy Carter was part of this group, any live-action adaptation is likely to deviate from that storyline. In a Daughters of Liberty adventure, we can expect to see Sharon Carter, portrayed by Emily VanCamp, who has been largely overlooked in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Alongside Sharon, potential members could include Misty Knight and Bobbi Morse. Misty had a brief appearance in the Netflix Marvel shows before their cancellation, but with Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil, there may be an opportunity for her comeback. Bobbi Morse, on the other hand, was featured in Agents of SHIELD, a series that had a flexible relationship with Marvel canon.
However, it appears that the Daughters of Liberty may not include any of these characters, based on the current roster of the Thunderbolts. The cast list for the Thunderbolts film does not fully align with the comic lineup, notably lacking the presence of Baron Zemo (played by Daniel Brühl). Zemo, who last appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, is a prominent leader of the Thunderbolts in Marvel canon. Despite this, there have been no indications of his involvement in the film through promotional material. Given the Marvel Cinematic Universe's tendency to take creative liberties, it is possible that the team-up of the Daughters of Liberty may deviate from known sources.
