Céline Dion is opening up about her struggle with stiff person syndrome. The 56-year-old Grammy winner shared in a statement in January that she will be bringing awareness to this "little-known" neurological disorder through a documentary called I Am: Céline Dion. This announcement came after Dion disclosed her diagnosis in December 2022.

"It has been tough for me to address the health issues I've been struggling with for a while now," the singer shared on Instagram.

Stiff person syndrome affects approximately one in 1 million individuals and is identified by increasing muscle stiffness resulting in limited mobility, muscle spasms, body posture changes, and ongoing pain.

Unfortunately, Dion had to cancel her Courage World Tour in May 2023 due to health reasons. She shared on social media that she is focused on regaining her strength and remains hopeful about touring again in the future.
