Uncover the Secrets of Starfield: An Epic Journey Through the No Sudden Moves Walkthrough

Embark on an exhilarating adventure in Starfield's 10th main quest! Join forces with Vladimir, infiltrate Captain Petrov's ship, and successfully seize another precious Artifact Optional bonus: plunder Petrov's vessel! Conclude the mission by returning triumphantly to The Lodge

In Starfield, the members of Constellation are focused on enhancing the capabilities of The Eye following the events of mission 9. However, Vladimir has a mission prepared for the player, granting them the opportunity to embark on the 10th main quest in Starfield, which revolves around a thrilling space heist.

To avoid revealing too many details, it is advisable to create a save file before initiating this mission as a precautionary measure. If players are eager to proceed and experience the excitement that awaits them, they should return to the orbit above New Atlantis to find Vladimir patiently awaiting their arrival alongside their crew members on board The Eye.

Talk to Vladimir

The first step of the mission is to engage with Vladimir, who remains on The Eye from the previous mission. Accompanying him are three comrades assisting in the ship's restoration. These three comrades are the ones with whom players have the strongest bond. Vladimir will express the need for these characters and assign players the companion with whom they have the weakest connection, which in this case is Barrett.

The significance of leaving behind one's favorite companion and teaming up with the one with whom players have the least chemistry (thus far) will be crucial moving forward. In this guide, Barrett accompanies the player on their mission to pilfer the Artifact from Captain Petrov, the proprietor of the Scow salvager vessel. However, this role may vary for each player's crew member.

Board The Scow

In the Procyon A System, players will encounter the Scow orbiting Procyon 5-B, the moon of Procyon 5. They have two choices: either they can communicate with the Scow and try to convince the captain to allow them to come aboard, pretending to be interested in making a purchase, or they can initiate an assault on the ship, crippling its engines and proceeding to board it like a pirate.

It is advisable to persuade the ship to permit players to dock and board, as this option promotes peace. If the ship is attacked, a space battle will ensue, and all the NPCs on the ship will become hostile towards the players when they attempt to board. Players can also let their companion do the talking, but this usually does not lead to much success.

Find Captain Petrov

Now that players have docked their ship onto the Scow, they can board the vessel. However, they will be greeted by an unwelcoming individual named Tao Xun. Despite the player's dialogue choices, Tao dismisses their concerns and points them towards Captain Petrov's location. Upon ascending the staircase to the left, players will find themselves in the expansive throne room, adorned with various scavenged items and trinkets from different parts of the galaxy. Positioned in the center is Petrov, seated on his throne.

Petrov, an individual who craves praise, cannot be swayed by flattery alone in this verbal battle. To gain access to the vault, players have four different approaches to choose from.

Option 1: Use the skills of either the player or their companion to cleverly persuade Petrov. The companion is the preferred choice due to their previous success in convincing Barrett, as smoothly as snapping their fingers, resulting in no conflicts and easier entry to the vault.

Option 2: Engage in a direct attack on Petrov, leading to him and his crew becoming hostile. Players will need to combat their way through to the vault by acquiring Petrov's key, and then navigate their way out of the ship while facing resistance. This approach is not highly efficient.

Option 3: Steal the key if you have the pickpocket perk. However, it is a risky decision, and players should use the save functions of Starfield to mitigate the consequences. This stealthy approach demands skill, as getting caught will result in hostility from everyone.

Option 4: Intrude the vault by locating its area and breaking the safety pins on the red emergency walls. This hostile method also allows access to the vault.

With these four options, it is advisable to adhere to option 1 for the most secure and pristine path ahead. Option 1 presents the optimal approach in tackling this quest, ensuring that no adversaries are made in the process, while also maintaining a clear conscience by avoiding unnecessary killing. However, it is worth noting that there might still be a certain degree of thievery involved that is yet to transpire in this main mission. Additionally, option 1 grants players the opportunity to engage in conversation with Captain Petrov, a character known for his charm and who leaves a lasting impression, much like Belethor and other beloved figures in Skyrim.

Steal The Artifact

Bartering or safely acquiring the Artifact is not an option. Wealth can only be attained by stealing it. This act, however, will provoke hostility among enemies. Nonetheless, players have the opportunity to challenge Petrov for the Artifact by engaging in a shootout until he yields. This method ensures safety, as upon his surrender, all members of his crew will cease hostilities and surrender, granting players the freedom to pilfer anything without facing any repercussions.

Once the Artifact has been acquired, players will become targets with a bounty of 500 Credits on their heads, establishing them as wanted offenders within the UC systems. It is crucial to bear this in mind, since being subjected to scans by UC ships will reveal the player's criminal status, thereby necessitating surrender or facing imminent demise.

(Optional) Loot Petrov’s Ship

After the Artifact has been stolen, players can backtrack through the same route to return to the vault. Once they ascend the initial set of stairs, they should turn left and proceed down a corridor filled with grime and debris. Eventually, they will come across a red door that can be forcefully opened using a weapon due to the presence of breakable bars. Upon smashing it down, a hidden objective titled 'Find the wall behind the vault' will be unlocked.

Proceeding through this area will lead players to a chest containing valuable gear and Credits. It is important to note that the Scow Guards will not attack unless provoked, allowing players to freely explore and collect items without penalty.

Upon entering Petrov's throne room and heading to the left, players will discover a secret office. Inside, there is a locked Contraband Cache that requires Expert Lockpicking skills to access. However, players will not leave empty-handed as they will also come across Gallow's Reach, a unique Rifle ready to be wielded by its new owner.

Continuing to explore the ship, players will come across Petrov's zoo, home to a variety of strange and dangerous alien creatures. Should players desire chaos, they can release these creatures using a computer terminal.

When players have looted everything that they want, they can make their way back to their ship and embark on the voyage home.

Return To The Lodge

To avoid any unpleasant consequences, players should be aware that their actions on Petrov's ship have attracted the attention of the United Colonies. Consequently, they now have a bounty on their head and their ship has been flagged. It is advisable to store any illegal items and stolen goods with their followers before leaving Petrov's ship, as trading equipment with them allows players to retain possession. Failure to do so may result in the confiscation of stolen items either on the ship or in the player's possession. In such cases, players can recover their stolen goods from the UC facility where they are being held, provided they possess the Expert Lockpick skill. It is recommended to conceal all stolen equipment, proceed to the Jemison system, and be prepared to either pay the bounty or face hostile fire.

Players have the option of fast-traveling directly to The Lodge to avoid the UC, but they should be aware that the UC will eventually track them down. If players have not yet taken the Crimson Fleet mission, this is the perfect opportunity to do so by allowing themselves to be caught by the UC and undertaking this act of espionage and double agent mastery.

Regarding The Lodge, it is crucial for players to understand that returning to The Lodge and placing the Artifact with the other pieces will commit them to starting and completing the next mission. This next mission is quite demanding and distressing, so players should be prepared for the consequences that come with entering The Lodge and triggering this inescapable mission. When players are ready, they can proceed to The Lodge, add the Artifact to the collection, and immediately commence the next mission, which cannot be escaped. Considering this, it may be wise to save their progress before completing this mission or to prepare themselves for what will follow.
