How to Get the Royal Guard Uniform in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

However, obtaining the Royal Guard Armor is no easy task as it requires you to explore the forbidding Hyrule Castle. To assist you in acquiring all three pieces of the Royal Guard Uniform and completing your defense-boosting ensemble, we have updated our guide, which now includes a helpful video.The Royal Guard armor set is comprised of three pieces: the Royal Guard Cap, Royal Guard Uniform, and Royal Guard Boots. All three items can be obtained within Hyrule Castle, making it accessible relatively early in the game. To reach the castle, players will need the paraglider and a few stamina upgrades to easily traverse from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower. Additionally, consuming stamina-boosting foods through cooking can provide a helpful solution in challenging situations.
Royal Guard Cap
The Royal Guard Cap can be found in Princess Zelda's Room, which is a bit challenging to access. To retrieve it, begin at the Sanctum, the room connected to the front entrance of the castle. Exit through the left doorway outside and you will come across a solitary tower. Take a leap off the cliff and glide straight towards the tower's entrance, where you will discover Princess Zelda's Study.
This room contains several weapons but lacks a cap. When leaving the study, there will be a stone bridge and an opposing doorway. It is advisable to swiftly cross the bridge, as its center is prone to collapsing. Upon doing so, descend into the hole of the new building to discover Princess Zelda's Room. In the corner of the room, concealed behind a series of changing dividers, the Royal Guard Cap awaits within a treasure chest.
Royal Guard Uniform
To venture out from Princess Zelda's Room, simply make your way through the wall opening adjacent to the chest holding the Royal Guard Cap. Once outside, gracefully glide towards the left, descending below the floating Hyrule Castle until you reach the First Gatehouse. Along the path leading to the gatehouse, you will encounter a colossal entrance carved into the side of the mountain. Step inside this monumental doorway and employ the power of Ultrahand to raise two gates. Ascend the stairs and promptly turn left to evade any potential adversaries.
At the end of the hallway, a sense of Gloom pervades the atmosphere. Navigate leftward and descend the stairs into the Guards Chambers. Proceed further down the stairs within the chambers and you will encounter a wooden walkway positioned above a pool of Gloom. To ascend, players must venture through the walkway, treading through the enigmatic Gloom below.
To mitigate the effects of Gloom, it is advisable to consume food and equip compatible armor. However, by swiftly Ascending, players can entirely evade any harm. After the Ascension, the player will discover the treasure chest vicinity containing the esteemed Royal Guard Uniform.
Royal Guard Boots
Glide gracefully back to Hyrule Castle from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, taking a detour around the right side of the castle until you spot a shrine. Behind the castle lies the Serutabomac Shrine. Once activated, make two daring leaps down the cliff to discover a hidden passageway beneath the shrine.
Head down the staircase until you reach the Library. Descend to the lower level and position yourself in front of the entrance where a colossal bookcase awaits. Utilize the Ultrahand to unveil a section of the bookcase that can be manipulated. Shift the piece aside to uncover the King's Study, where a treasure chest holds the coveted Royal Guard Boots.
