The official website states that Maison Gainsbourg, which includes the preserved former residence of French singer and actor Serge Gainsbourg, along with a museum, shop, and café, will be accessible to the public starting from September 20.

Located on the left bank of the Seine river, the house at 5 bis rue de Verneuil has always been a magnet for fans. Over the years, they have adorned its exterior with graffiti as countless tributes to the late singer, who passed away in 1991.
Visitors can now delve into the interior of the house while being accompanied by an original soundtrack created by Charlotte Gainsbourg, actress and daughter of Gainsbourg, along with the Soundwalk Collective. Lasting for 30 minutes, this intimate experience allows the public to wander as they are guided by the voice of Charlotte Gainsbourg. She retraces the memories and anecdotes tied to her father and her childhood home, leading step by step, as stated on the website.

And the nearby museum will boast a permanent collection of 450 objects, including manuscripts, artworks and items of clothing, as well as temporary exhibits.
Maison Gainsbourg will house approximately 25,000 items in total, along with an archive containing around 3,000 manuscripts. Additionally, visitors have the option to visit Le Gainsbarre, a café during the day that transforms into a piano bar at night.
British-born actress and singer Jane Birkin, renowned for her success in France, passes away at the age of 76. In anticipation of the highly anticipated grand opening, Charlotte Gainsbourg shares a collection of house photos on Instagram throughout the previous week.
In April, she told CNN affiliate BFMTV that she was "very happy and very nervous" about opening it up to the public.

Planning a visit requires advance booking as tickets are currently sold out until December. Serge Gainsbourg gained notable recognition among English speakers for his seductive duet "Je t'aime... moi non plus" with his girlfriend Jane Birkin. The song's explicit lyrics led to its ban in multiple countries.
The pair quickly became the subject of widespread public fascination, with Gainsbourg nearly 20 years older than Birkin, who died in July.
