Unbelievable Valheim Fortress Stands Tall After Epic 197 Days of Building

Marvel at the awe-inspiring achievement of a dedicated Valheim player, showcasing their remarkable base meticulously crafted over an impressive 197 in-game days, equivalent to roughly 85 hours in real-time Prepare to be amazed by the incredible detail and sheer scale of this extraordinary creation

One Valheim enthusiast successfully constructs an expansive stronghold consisting of multiple buildings within a mere 197 in-game days. This remarkable achievement required approximately 85 hours of real-time gameplay, surpassing the duration needed to complete numerous AAA games.

Valheim, developed by Iron Gate Studio, made its debut in early access in 2021. Immersed in a fictional Norse interpretation of purgatory, players assume the role of a Viking warrior striving to prove their worthiness of entering the revered halls of Valhalla. In order to demonstrate their mettle, players must vanquish the adversaries of the Norse deity Odin. With nothing to their name, players must adeptly craft essential items and establish fortified bases, navigate the dynamically generated environment, and enhance their character's abilities until they are suitably prepared to confront Valheim's formidable bosses.

Reddit user AlwaysBlue86 has created an awe-inspiring Valheim base, showcasing it through a brief tour on the game's subreddit. The stronghold, consisting of multiple levels, boasts grand structures made of wood and stone, all surrounded by sturdy walls and watchtowers. The tour commences in AlwaysBlue86's character's cabin, which doubles as a trophy room adorned with striking banners, creature heads, and suits of armor. Moving forward, the tour takes us to the nearby foundry. Additionally, the base features noteworthy amenities such as an open-air observation area, a Portal hub, and a grand feast hall. Although not showcased up close, the base also encompasses farmland and a windmill.

In the comments section of their post, the Valheim player elaborated on this impressive project. Initially estimating that the construction process spanned 165 days, they revealed that it actually took 197 days to complete. To bring their vision to life, AlwaysBlue86 spawned 8000 units of Stone. However, these resources depleted before the project's completion, necessitating manual gathering for all other materials. Furthermore, besides clearing the forest and digging a moat, a considerable amount of time was spent mining for tar and metals. The colossal Valheim fortress also required an extraordinary amount of Resin to keep its torches illuminated, with AlwaysBlue86 admitting that they only relit them for the purposes of the video.

AlwaysBlue86 estimated that it took approximately 85 hours in real-time to spawn the Stone, which is quite impressive. This dedicated Valheim player's accomplishment should not be underestimated. In comparison, a standard playthrough of Tears of the Kingdom, assuming the player is not aiming for 100% completion, typically takes around 54 to 55 hours to complete.

Furthermore, AlwaysBlue86 shared the impact that this build had on their game's performance. Despite having a powerful setup that can usually achieve a low 100 frames per second in Valheim, their FPS dropped as low as 45 in the base, resulting in a choppy gameplay experience. However, such is the cost of constructing these massive in-game strongholds.

Valheim is out in early access on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
