Spheal, affectionately referred to as the Clap Pokemon, is a dual-type Pokemon with Ice and Water attributes. This delightful character made its first appearance in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire for the Game Boy Advance. Throughout its evolution, Spheal transforms into Sealeo at level 32, and eventually evolves into Walrein at level 44. As of now, Spheal is not included in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, with its most recent appearance being in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Due to its round physique and endearing nature, Spheal has garnered considerable popularity as one of the beloved Pokemon from the third generation. Inspired by this, a talented fan artist decided to create a remarkable tribute to the charming Clap Pokemon with their latest masterpiece.
A Pokemon fan named JoyJoyPoke, also known as pokamii on YouTube, showcased their artistic skills on Reddit. They created a Spheal plate from clay and shared their impressive work on the r/pokemon subreddit as well as in a YouTube video on their channel. Pokamii, renowned for their previous creation of a Jigglypuff plate, provided a detailed account of the creative process behind the Spheal plate in the video. Beginning with ceramic clay, they used a bowl to mold the shape of the new plate. Additional clay was skillfully used by pokamii to form Spheal's teeth, ears, and upper body, meticulously attaching them by hand. With the shape finalized, the plate was then placed in a kiln to undergo heating and hardening.
Once the plate had cooled, pokamii embarked on the painting process. They applied off-white paint to color Spheal, and utilized light blue and white paint for the remaining features of the Pokemon. Black and white paint was employed to paint Spheal's eyes and nostrils, with a thin brush used to prevent any paint bleeding onto the rest of the plate. After the paint dried, the OP added the finishing touch by baking some cookies and placing them on the beautifully crafted plate. Pokémon enthusiasts on r/pokemon expressed their sincere appreciation and delight, commending pokamii's artistic endeavors. The comments on the subreddit ranged from expressing gratitude to clever Spheal-related puns.
Spheal is currently not included in the lineup for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, trainers can still capture Spheal and its evolutions in Pokemon GO. The anticipation builds as we await Spheal's return to the Pokemon series.
