A Nintendo enthusiast scored big at a yard sale, snagging six GameCube games for the bargain price of $5. The retro gaming market has seen a surge in inflated prices as of late, with GameCube games being particularly vulnerable to this trend. Due to the exorbitant prices on sites like eBay, many fans are calling for Nintendo to bring the console's library to modern platforms. Although Nintendo has made some of the GameCube's finest titles, such as Metroid Prime and Super Mario Sunshine, available on the Switch, a plethora of outstanding games remain trapped on the old console.
A lucky Reddit user recently stumbled upon an amazing yard sale find - GameCube versions of several Resident Evil games and P.N.03, all complete in box. The games were being sold for just $1 each, but the user managed to snag them all for just $5. To put this deal into perspective, a quick search on eBay reveals that these games can fetch quite a high price - P.N.03 goes for around $70, while Resident Evil 2 can cost over $100. In total, the Reddit user got around $340 worth of video games for just $5, making this an incredible find indeed.
Most of these games are now easily accessible on modern consoles at a fraction of their eBay prices. Both Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil Zero have HD remasters, while Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 have undergone complete remakes. The HD version of Resident Evil 4 is also available, along with the recently-released remake. Unfortunately, the only game that is not yet playable on modern platforms is P.N.03. Released in 2003, this third-person shooter game was directed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and received mixed reviews. Despite its reception, it would still be great to see the game made playable on today's consoles.
