Characters from Scream have been used to recreate the popular Barbie mugshots. Recently, a new trailer was released for Greta Gerwig's live-action film, Barbie, which stars Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. In the trailer, Barbie and Ken venture into the real world and end up getting their mugshots taken after Barbie punches someone who inappropriately touched her on the beach. This scene quickly went viral. Freelance illustrator Fox took to Twitter to share their own version of the Barbie mugshots, featuring the iconic Ghostface killers Billy and Stu from the movie Scream.
Billy Loomis, portrayed by Skeet Ulrich, takes on the role of Barbie and appears apprehensive of being caught. Meanwhile, Stu Macher, played by Matthew Lillard, embodies Ken's playful nature and even sticks out his tongue, reminiscent of his character in the original movie.
Billy and Stu's Dynamic Has Never Been Replicated
The Scream franchise has a tendency to feature multiple Ghostface killers, but the relationship between Billy and Stu is particularly suited for a reimagining. While Billy is driven by revenge, Stu seems to delight in helping his friend. Despite a last-minute betrayal, their bond remains strong, leading some to interpret their dynamic as that of a potential romantic couple.
The Scream sequels attempted to recreate the unique dynamic between Billy and Stu, but never quite succeeded. In Scream 2, the killers had a less established connection, with Billy's mother teaming up with a young film student. Meanwhile, Scream 4's killers had a more established relationship, but it was based on deceit and betrayal rather than the genuine bond shared by Billy and Stu.
While Scream 2022 attempts to combine the pairings of Scream 2 and 4, the killers don't have the same level of chemistry and playfulness as Billy and Stu. Surprisingly, the original Scream duo pairs perfectly with Barbie due to their particular dynamic and the popularity of fans shipping them together. It's a uniquely adorable combination that the other Ghostface duos just can't match.
