Two devoted fans of the HBO series The Last of Us have recently crafted a life-sized replica of a Clicker using bread. While The Last of Us games may appear to be another standard zombie-themed adventure, its adversaries, such as the Clickers, set it apart. Clickers embody the third stage of the cordyceps infection, which has transformed most of the world into bloodthirsty monsters. The infection has completely enveloped the heads of these creatures in fungal growth, giving rise to mushroom-like spores sprouting from their faces. Although these ferocious beings have lost their sight, their hearing has been significantly heightened. Appropriately named after the strange croaking and clicking sounds produced by their damaged vocal cords, Clickers pose a truly menacing threat.

Catherine and Hannalee Peran, a mother-daughter duo who run a bakery in Benicia, California, have crafted two impressive renditions of the iconic enemy from The Last of Us using bread. It took around 400 hours to meticulously sculpt the intricacies of the creature. The purpose behind their creation was to participate in the annual Downtown Benicia Main Street Scarecrow Contest, an event they never fail to enter. The life-sized clicker featured in their masterpiece showcases a half-zipped hoodie, with its mutated mushroom spores bursting out in every direction. They have named their creation "The Last of Crust."
