Despite their interconnected histories, the friendships between the kids remain strong, though possibly not for much longer. While the conclusion of Big Mouth season 7 presented promising yet daunting futures for the young teenagers, it also left behind numerous enigmas and unanswered queries, all awaiting resolution in the upcoming season 8. With their journey at Bridgeton High School beginning, Big Mouth now has just one season left to effectively bring closure to both new and long-standing storylines.
10. What's Up With Judd's Drug Dealer & Her Son?
9. Who Is The Masked Principal?
In Big Mouth season 7, a new character named Honeydew enters the scene as Judd's drug supplier. Accompanying her is her young son. As Nick follows his older brother to Brooklyn, he encounters this alternative medicine practitioner who has captured Judd's affection. Nick begins to notice Judd's peculiar actions and even goes as far as questioning whether the child is Judd's secret offspring. This revelation raises eyebrows considering that Judd is still in his late teens. Despite denying any relation to the child, the bond between Judd and Honeydew's son becomes increasingly apparent, sparking jealousy within Nick over Judd's tender treatment of the child.
Debuting in the episode "Cafeteria Girls" of Big Mouth's fourth season, the Masked Principal is a recurring joke inspired by the reality show The Masked Singer. In the season 4 finale of Big Mouth, the Masked Principal playfully breaks the fourth wall to reveal themselves as director Roman Polanski to the audience. However, even as Big Mouth progresses into its seventh season, the identity of the masked character remains unexposed. As the highly popular Netflix series approaches its eighth and final season, there are only a limited number of episodes left for the true identity of the Masked Principal to finally be unveiled.
8. Where Is Montel?
Montel, the son of Maury (played by Nick Kroll) and Connie (played by Maya Rudolph), made his debut in the season 6 episode titled "Rice Purity Test". Throughout season 6 of Big Mouth, Montel quickly grew from a newborn to a preteen, but surprisingly, he did not appear in season 7. However, it has been confirmed that the storylines from the cancelled spinoff show, Human Resources, which focuses on the universe's creatures and Hormone Monsters, will be concluded in the final seasons of Big Mouth. As a result, there is potential for Montel's character to be further explored in season 8, possibly explaining his absence in season 7.
7. Do Missy & Elijah Have A Romantic Future?
Introduced in the season 6 episode "The Hookup House," Elijah (played by Brian Tyree Henry) became a love interest for Missy Foreman-Greenwald (played by Ayo Edebiri). His most significant storyline focused on his realization of being asexual and how he navigated his relationship with Missy. In season 7 of Big Mouth, Elijah gets accepted into a renowned Christian school, which causes the couple to be physically separated during their high school years. Although Elijah leaves for bible camp over the summer, they promise to keep in touch through letters. However, Mona (played by Thandie Newton) shatters Missy's hopes for their future. Deep down, Missy starts believing Mona's words, thinking that their relationship is over. However, season 8 offers hope for a potential reunion between the two.
