A new installment in the Mario Vs. Donkey Kong series has been unveiled for the Nintendo Switch during today's Nintendo Direct presentation.
In this game, players will join Mario on a quest to retrieve stolen Mini Mario toys scattered throughout the world by Donkey Kong. Along the way, they will guide Mario in his battle against Donkey Kong and his army of mischievous toys, including adorably fierce rhinos.
In each stage of Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, players will encounter puzzles involving switches, disappearing platforms, and other obstacles. Mario's objective is to obtain a key that will unlock the path to the next area. Additionally, the game will introduce a new two-player co-op mode where Toad assists Mario in solving puzzles and collecting toys.
The Mario Vs. Donkey Kong series made its debut on Game Boy Advance in 2004, followed by releases on Nintendo DS, 3DS, and Wii U. This latest installment marks the franchise's first release since Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: amiibo Challenge in January 2016, which offered the option for players to utilize various amiibo figures along their adventure.
Mario Vs. Donkey Kong launches February 16, 2024 exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Preorders are available today on the Nintendo eShop.
