The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game that turns what players thought they knew about Breath of the Wild on its head. While much of the game is new, there are still nods to the Zelda series' most iconic items. Biggoron's Sword, a powerful two-handed weapon that originally appeared in Ocarina of Time, makes a return from Breath of the Wild. Players who don't have the right Amiibo will have to venture to the farthest reaches of Hyrule to find it. It's worth the effort though, as the sword can be further improved with Fuse. Even players who have never played Ocarina of Time will appreciate the significance of this weapon.
Biggoron's Sword is a formidable weapon in Tears of the Kingdom, much like it was in Breath of the Wild. With a base Attack of 36, this two-handed weapon can unleash a devastating spinning charge attack that persists as long as the Y button is held down. Its item description makes a direct reference to the Hero of Time from Ocarina of Time, where Link was originally bestowed with this sword by Biggoron. Now, players can once again wield this legendary weapon and experience its power for themselves.
The Biggoron's Sword is a unique and named item in Tears of the Kingdom. Unlike other items with limited durability, this sword can be obtained through repeatable methods. Players can either visit the Poe statues located in the Depths or use the correct Amiibo once a day to acquire this powerful weapon.
If you're looking for the Biggoron's Sword, head over to Skull Lake where it can be found.
The Biggoron's Sword can be obtained in Tears of the Kingdom by traveling to the far northern region of the world. Located deep in the Akkala Highlands, at coordinates (3248, 3444, -0431), is an area known as Skull Lake. This area is aptly named due to its resemblance to a skull and the treasures found beneath it.
Players can access the Akkala House of Bones, a subterranean area in the Depths, through a chasm located in Skull Lake or by breaking through rock walls from other areas. Upon entering, Link will face several waves of Stal-type enemies, including Stalkoblins and Stalfos. Once all waves are defeated, the Stalnox boss will appear, and players must defeat it to obtain the Biggoron's Sword.
To obtain the Biggoron's Sword, players can face a skeletonized Hinox known as Stalnox. Shooting arrows at its eye is crucial, but beware of its Hearts-reducing attacks. Once defeated, a chest nearby will unlock, granting access to the coveted sword. Although the fight can be repeated during each Blood Moon, players must visit one of the Depths' bargained statues to obtain another sword once it's been destroyed. However, there is another way to obtain the Biggoron's Sword through the use of an Amiibo.
Both Young Link and Ocarina Of Time Adult Link amiibo can be used to spawn the legendary Biggoron's Sword. However, it's not a guarantee that you will receive the sword, which is why it's recommended to use both amiibos every day to increase your chances. In addition to the sword, both amiibos will also reward players with the Cap, Tunic, and Trousers of Time set, as well as meat. Young Link amiibo provides arrows while Adult Link amiibo offers a Soldier's Claymore. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
