In May, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released as the sequel to Breath of the Wild, which was initially available with the launch of the Nintendo Switch console in March 2017. During an unfortunate expedition beneath Hyrule Castle, Link gets separated from Zelda and must now venture through mainland Hyrule to find her. Along the way, he discovers that his arm has been replaced with one from Rauru, the first king of Hyrule. Link embarks on a journey to reunite with Zelda, uncover the events that occurred during his absence, and ultimately defeat his nemesis, Ganondorf. While the premise of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom bears resemblance to previous entries in the longstanding series, it introduces new locations and gameplay mechanics.
Zelda enthusiast HappyPond successfully captured an image showcasing 10 different title screens from various Zelda games across a range of Nintendo consoles. The photograph reveals the inaugural game in the series on the left-hand side, displayed on The Legend of Zelda Game & Watch system, which was launched in 2021. On the far right-hand side of the image, the title screen for the latest game in the series, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, can be seen. The image unveils multiple Nintendo home consoles and handheld systems displaying the title screens of Zelda games released between the original game's debut in 1986 and the upcoming Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in 2023. Notable games featured include The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD for the Wii U and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GameCube and Wii consoles.
HappyPond faced a considerable challenge in capturing the photo, as synchronization was necessary for all 10 consoles and their respective Zelda games. Some Nintendo consoles took longer to boot up and reach the title screen, requiring HappyPond to devote time to adjusting the hardware to ensure all 10 games were active on the title screen simultaneously. Luckily, setting up The Legend of Zelda games for the Nintendo 3DS proved to be the easiest task, as these titles run on identical hardware.
HappyPond successfully set up all the Nintendo consoles and Zelda games, resulting in a visually appealing image where each title screen is vividly displayed for fans. While a few games from the complete Zelda timeline are absent, the image still effectively showcases the extensive histories of Nintendo and this beloved game franchise. Nintendo Switch users can now enjoy The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
