Having tried various portable charging stations, I can confidently say that Ugreen produces some of the finest ones available in the market. Thus, I was delighted to finally grab the Ugreen Foldable Kickstand (UFK) for myself. With dimensions of 4.5 inches tall and 2.75 inches wide, this charger is approximately two-thirds the size of my iPhone 12. Its sleek design boasts a matte-gray casing complemented by a glossy, slightly darker trimming that wraps around the edges.

The MagSafe wireless pad lays vertically, occupying the top half of the device. Positioned near the bottom-right corner is the USB-C input/output. The USB-A port is located along the bottom frame, right next to the charger's LED indicator. The back of the device only features the built-in kickstand, which can be extended to allow for upright or horizontal positioning of the charger.

Although the built-in kickstand is a convenient feature, I would appreciate some padding, such as silicone, where the end of the stand contacts the surface the charger is placed on. The rounded bottom of the kickstand may not provide enough protection, and there is a risk of scratching delicate furniture while moving the charger in certain ways.

Personally, I appreciate the inclusion of the high-temperature defense as the UFK tends to generate some heat while charging both devices and its own battery.

Two-way charging is an incredibly valuable addition that I truly appreciate. With this feature, you can conveniently recharge the UFK by connecting it to a power brick using a USB-C wire. At the same time, you can continue to utilize the MagSafe pad and USB-A port to charge your devices either separately or simultaneously.

If you're looking for a fast-charging solution for your laptop, the UFK may not be the ideal choice. However, it can still be used to replenish a MacBook battery, although the recharge cycle may be slower. The Qi wireless charging pad provides a maximum output of 15W, while the USB-C port offers a maximum output of 20W. Surprisingly, the USB-A port outperforms the PD port, delivering an impressive 22.5W. The UFK presents a unique case where a USB-A port surpasses expectations.

Ugreen claims that its 10,000mAh battery has enough power to recharge an iPhone 14 approximately 2.3 times and a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra up to 1.1 times. By utilizing the 20W USB-C port, I successfully charged my iPhone 12 from 29 percent battery to 63 percent in slightly over thirty minutes. Additionally, employing wireless charging, I managed to charge my iPhone from 38 percent to 65 percent within a span of 40 minutes. Incorporating the kickstand feature, I particularly appreciated the convenience of mounting my iPhone vertically or horizontally onto the MagSafe pad. This allowed me to easily enjoy watching YouTube videos while giving my iOS device a brief break.

Being able to simultaneously charge the battery while charging other devices is incredibly convenient as it can take a significant amount of time to fully recharge the UFK. Ugreen recommends allowing the battery to completely drain and then charging it fully for the initial use. Following this advice, it took approximately three hours to recharge my test unit. Considering the maximum 20W input of the USB-C, this charging cycle was not excessively long. However, it is reassuring to know that two-way charging is available if needed urgently.

I highly recommend monitoring your devices closely while they are charging. Although the UFK provides high-temperature protection, both my iPhone 12 and the UFK itself would become quite warm when using the wireless charger.
