Liverpool have officially announced the acquisition of Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo from Stuttgart, pending the issuance of a work permit and international clearance. Endo, a 30-year-old Japanese international, has inked a lucrative four-year deal that will see him stay at Anfield until 2027, in a transfer worth £16.2m.
Liverpool's interest in Endo arises from their previous failed attempts to secure signings such as Moises Caiceido and Romeo Lavia, both of whom have now joined Chelsea.
In their endeavor to revamp the midfield after losing captain Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to Saudi Arabia, Liverpool has already brought in Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, with Endo being the latest addition to Anfield.

"I'm absolutely delighted. Wataru is an exceptional player," exclaimed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. "I'm well aware of the nature of the football industry, but take a moment to appreciate his immense talent.
"He boasts a wealth of experience, having served as the captain for both Stuttgart and Japan. Alongside his excellent fluency in English, he is a genuinely amiable individual, a devoted family man, and an unstoppable force on the field. Not only is he a remarkable footballer, but his unwavering dedication is truly awe-inspiring. That being said, I couldn't be happier. He is a highly skilled player with a wealth of experience who thrives on hard work."
