Liverpool have turned down a £150m offer from Saudi Pro League team Al Ittihad for their talented forward Mohamed Salah. Although Salah is still a target for Saudi Arabia, an initial bid of £100m, which then escalated to £150m, has been rejected.
Liverpool remain firm in their stance that Salah will not be made available for transfer. Despite the imminent closure of the Premier League transfer window at 11pm on Friday night, Saudi Pro League clubs have the advantage of having their own transfer window open until September 7.
Al Ittihad is prepared to offer Salah a weekly salary of £1.5m in an attempt to question his loyalty to Liverpool, even though his agent Ramy Abbas dismissed the possibility of a transfer earlier this month.
Both Al Ittihad and the Saudi Pro League are aware that Liverpool remains steadfast in their decision to not entertain any offers for the Egyptian player.
The figures being mentioned have clearly not softened that position.
The 31-year-old has been nothing but professional through the noise over this situation thus far.
'Saudis want Salah as most famous Arab footballer'
According to Kaveh Solhekol, chief reporter at We News, the Saudi Pro League considers Mo Salah as the most renowned Arab footballer globally, and having him play there would be a remarkable achievement.Salah's name has been included in the list of players compiled by the Saudi Pro League for potential signings this summer. Notable names like Karim Benzema and Neymar have already been successfully acquired, but so far, Al Ittihad, the champions, have not been able to secure Salah. The club is keen on signing him and if they are able to do so, they would prefer to have him play for them. There is still a chance that a move for Salah might be made before the Saudi window closes on September 7.
"This transfer won't follow the usual pattern we're familiar with. Their process is distinct, involving centralized control by the Saudi Pro League, the Ministry of Sport, the Sovereign Wealth Fund, and Al Ittihad, rather than the typical club discussions and negotiations with Liverpool.
Salah has not expressed any desire to transfer. The only public statement we have heard was from his agent, confirming that Mo had renewed his contract with Liverpool last summer, indicating his commitment to stay."
However, I can envision the possibility of witnessing Mo Salah's participation in Saudi Arabia at some point in the future. While it may not necessarily happen during the current window or in the upcoming year, the Saudi authorities exhibit a significant level of commitment towards securing Salah's signature and possess substantial financial resources.
If the deal materializes, Salah would join the ranks of the highest-paid athletes globally, earning a minimum of £1.5m on a weekly basis. Moreover, the Saudis appear willing to surpass the £100m mark to secure his services, despite Salah already being 31 years old.

In light of this, it is worth considering that they expended approximately £80-90m for Neymar, who happens to be of the same age.Keep up to date with all the latest transfer news and rumours in our dedicated Transfer Centre blog on We' digital platforms.
