Three individuals lost their lives and three others are in critical condition following a stabbing and fire incident in Far Rockaway, Queens on Sunday morning. Additionally, two police officers were injured during the incident, but their injuries are non-life-threatening.
Around 5 a.m. on Sunday, first responders were called to a stabbing. Around 15 minutes later, the same location requested the fire department for a fire, according to authorities. The fire department stated that fire marshals are currently investigating the scene.
Far Rockaway is a long inlet along the shore of Long Island, in the southernmost part of Queens in New York.
