Motocross rider Brooke Carlton tragically passed away at the age of 9 due to a "freak accident" during a race at a California track. She was riding an electric motorbike when she was hit by another young rider at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park on Sunday, June 2, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered individuals trying to revive an unconscious Carlton. She was then transported to the nearby Inland Valley Medical Center, where she unfortunately passed away.

The sheriff's office reported that the other rider in the accident received treatment for minor injuries at the track.

Carlton’s parents, Jason and Angie, expressed their grief about their daughter’s death on a GoFundMe page set up in her honor.

Brooke was a true spitfire who always knew exactly what she wanted. Her sparkling eyes and big smile could easily convince you that the sky was a mix of pink and purple, and that you should treat her to an ice cream. She adored her parents, her dog Gunner, her grandparents, and above all, her brother Landon.

Carlton was an ambassador for motocross brand Go Fast Girls, where her bio page said she loved “to be out on the track competing with other girls and going fast!”

The Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park, situated around 70 miles south of Los Angeles, offered their condolences after her passing.

In a post on Instagram dated Monday, June 3, they mentioned, "We were not able to share earlier due to legal reasons. We are deeply saddened by what happened. It was a tragic accident as stated by the parent. Let's focus on remembering this young girl and showing support to her family during this difficult time."

The post concluded, “We are a community and we will do our part in supporting the family as well. May you rest in peace Brooke!”
