Lucifer star Tom Ellis and wife Meaghan Oppenheimer have welcomed their first baby together via surrogate.
On November 8th, our daughter Dolly Ellis-Oppenheimer was born. In a remarkable turn of events, she resolved the SAG strike within just five hours of her birth. We expressed our love and gratitude for our surrogate as we shared photos of ourselves in the hospital with our newborn on Instagram. This is Oppenheimer's first experience as a mother and confirms Ellis as a proud father of girls. He already has a daughter named Nora from a previous relationship and shares two other daughters, Florence and Marnie, with his ex-wife Tamzin Outhwaite. The couple were married for seven years before divorcing in 2014.
Ellis and Oppenheimer got together in 2015 and announced their engagement two years later. They got married in June 2019, and Ellis happily shared the news with his fans on social media. "Thank you to everyone who made our special day so meaningful," he wrote as a caption to an adorable Instagram photo of the newlyweds at their wedding.
Aside from expressing his love for Oppenheimer, Ellis frequently uses social media to express his joy of being a father. In August 2020, he spoke to The Guardian about the challenges of being separated from his daughters during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It has been incredibly difficult,” said the outlet. “There is a void when they are not by your side.” (Ellis was filming Lucifer in Los Angeles when COVID-19 struck, while his children stayed in the U.K.)

He expressed the challenge of staying optimistic amidst the chaos of the world, being separated from his children, and uncertain about seeing them. He mentioned his anticipation for the long-awaited reunion with his daughters after being apart for seven months. However, despite his close bond with his daughters, they are not supportive of his career.
In 2016, the actor shared with People that his children find his work unimpressive, which he finds amusing. Whenever they see him on TV, he points it out to them, but they merely give it a quick look before continuing with their own activities as it doesn't bother them. The only time they actually show interest in his work is when he did a light-hearted sitcom in the UK. As a father, they are his biggest fans, but not as an actor.
Ellis observed that his daughters' greatest annoyance was when he attempted to showcase his creativity at home. "What they strongly disapprove of is me imitating characters' voices," he joked. "They really don't appreciate it."
