Tom Brady’s life has been hectic since his divorce from ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.
Brady, 46, who is frequently in the public eye, expressed his desire to always choose his words carefully. Speaking on his "Let's Go!" podcast on Monday, October 2, he stated, "I no longer want to invite needless conflict into my life. I am already dealing with a significant amount of drama."
Over the past year, Brady has been in the news due to his separation from Bündchen, 43. The former couple, who have three children together - Jack, 16, Benjamin, 13, and Vivian, 10 - announced their divorce in October 2022, marking the end of their more than ten-year marriage.
“My wife and I have recently finalized our divorce after being married for 13 years,” the football player shared on Instagram Story. “We made this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. Our priority will always be our children, who are incredibly beautiful and precious. As parents, we will continue to work together, ensuring they receive the love and attention they deserve.”
Speculations about their breakup began in September when rumors circulated about tension between Brady and Bündchen due to Brady's decision to extend his career. (Brady initially announced his retirement in February 2022 but later revealed his plan to return for his 23rd season, just six weeks after claiming he was finished with the sport.).
According to a source, Gisele was displeased when Tom Brady un-retired from the NFL after a brief period. They are currently resolving their issues and striving for a positive outcome. Bündchen later refuted the notion that their divorce was solely due to Brady returning to football, clarifying in a March interview with Vanity Fair that the situation was not as straightforward as it seemed.
"What has been stated is just a small part of a larger picture," she conveyed to the media at that moment. "You know, I have constantly supported him and will continue to do so indefinitely. If there is one individual who deserves ultimate happiness, it is him, trust me. I yearn for his accomplishments and triumphs. I genuinely desire all of his aspirations to be fulfilled. That is sincerely what I desire from the depths of my heart."
After years of uncertainty regarding his retirement, Brady announced in February that he was permanently hanging up his helmet.
In July, Brady once again found himself in the spotlight as he appeared to have moved on from Bündchen with model Irina Shayk. The pair were seen together outside his house, sparking rumors of a new romance. According to a source, Shayk, who is 37 years old, and Brady are still in the early stages of their relationship.
“Tom has spent some time with Irina, although their relationship is still in the early stages,” a source revealed. “At the moment, Tom is concentrating on his children and enjoying himself. However, he has a genuine interest in getting to know Irina more intimately.”
Back in September, another insider disclosed that despite their hectic schedules and personal commitments, Tom and Irina are continuing to date.
According to a source, Irina believes that Tom is a kind and reliable person, and Tom feels comfortable around Irina. As for Bünchen, she has no remorse regarding her marriage and later separation from the athlete.
“I reflect upon my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything else,” she shared with CBS News Sunday Morning in September. “It may not align with my initial dreams and aspirations. I had always yearned for my parents’ 50-year-long marriage; that was something I truly wished for. However, I've come to realize that sometimes in your twenties, people either grow together or grow apart. He is the father of my children, so I consistently wish him the best, and I'm immensely grateful that he has blessed me with amazing kids. Moreover, I believe that when one door closes, other doors open.”
