Toby Keith is preparing to hit the road again as he continues his recovery from stomach cancer. "I'm feeling great and everything is looking positive," shared the 61-year-old country singer with The Oklahoman. "Given the unpredictability of cancer, it's important to be prepared."

Keith expressed his desire to gauge his stamina for a full-length show before committing to a tour. "I feel like I have more endurance now, and I'm considering bringing the band along to perform for a few days and test if I can sustain a two-hour performance," he added.

Despite this, the talented artist remains optimistic about hitting the road later this autumn.

Keith mentioned that all he needs to do is successfully endure two or three work nights and have a brief respite from chemotherapy. Afterward, he intends to resume working, emphasizing his state of readiness as a way of truly living. As an Oklahoma native, he confirmed that he is still receiving chemotherapy treatment for his stomach cancer. However, he expressed optimism as his blood test results have shown improvement and his tumor has reduced in size by a third.

“I’m approximately eight weeks away from my previous scan,” the songwriter mentioned. “Therefore, I anticipate that the next time I seek, that tumor will have diminished further — and only one has been detected thus far.”
